Awesome. My family had a Greyhound for 12 years, from a rescue centre. She was awesome. Dumb as fuck and highly strung but very affectionate.
I tattooed her name on me when she died.

When I lived in Austin I worked at the Alamo Theatre. It is the greatest movie theatre in the world. They run this video before the film starts.

I got this Baphomet head from Tim Lehi last month. Why? Easily my favorite tattooist, and I think he understands what I am going for. He has tattooed me a few times and always gives me suitable tattoos for me, like he knows me, ha.

Then offer the painting to your kind friends for auction. Highest bidder wins. Problem solved.
Then you can paint another for the second-highest bidder. Everybody wins.
Maybe art school didn't curse you with a sense of entitlement. If not, you were lucky, It took me years to try and shake it. but TV shows sure made you think that sentiment and romance make sub-standard work justifiable.
I'm afraid that once you paint tattoo imagery and show it to professionals you are held to the same standards as professionals.
So one of the hardest things about tattooing is learning to take advice without offering excuses and reasons. It's difficult and it hurts but you need to take it on the chin and learn from it. I'm sure any tattooer worth their salt would agree.

I've never tattooed at a convention and the last time I tattooed at someone else's shop (as a visitor) was 20 years ago , I was working in Georgia and traveled to Jacksonville to work at Inksmith and Rogers.
Well I'm en route to Inksmith and Rogers ,again ,to sit in and visit with Mike Wilson and Angelo Miller--- and also the rest of the crew.
I'm a little neurotic and anxious--- but I'm flattered that they'll have me.
I'm not even comfortable working in a different station in my own shop so this is definitely out of my comfort zone.
I'm considering this my 20-30 yr refresher course!
    Wish me luck

Avery Taylor got a reaction from polliwog in Oliver Peck VS Kat Von D
I know that people will hate me for saying this, but I will anyway. I feel sorry for Kat Von D. To me she is exactly what reality tv producers look for. An extremely insecure (bordering on mentally ill) person that outwardly appears to be confident and uncaring of what others think. Gordon Ramsay, the cast of any of the Real World MTV, Jersey Shore, the Kardashians, etc...
These people are perfect because they can be easily lead by anyone that compliments them and validates their behavior. The producers take the most extreme parts of their personality and manipulate them into making that their whole personality. They then ride the person into the ground. It reminds me of the scene in True Grit where they ride the horse until it dies.
My guess is that tattooing will survive this period in its long history, but Kat Von D will not. She will be used up by the producers and the advertisers, and left for dead like that horse in True Grit. Then she will turn back to tattooing and find out that it has abandoned her as well.
I'm not saying that she does not deserve this. I'm not really sure what she deserves on either side of the coin, but I will say this. It is all very sad to me. I was getting tattooed at True Tattoo before anyone there was on TV, and it was a fun place to be. My memories of Kat are of a young girl that really looked up to Tim and Chris, and was becoming a pretty good tattooer herself. I don't have a lot or respect for the decisions she has made since that time, but I also do not think that she is completely to blame.
