The Swastika symbol in tattoos
Avery Taylor replied to Iwar's topic in Tattoo Designs, Books and Flash
It depends on how creative and articulate you are. -
Hey D, Did you read all 14 pages of the thread. I think that most people were pretty on board with Chris and what he is charging. A couple of people felt it was too much, but most seemed to understand, and at least two people on here have already gotten tattooed by him. I don't think that anyone was all that negative. A couple of people said they don't get what is so special about his tattoos, but they were not nasty about it. Maybe I am misreading something in your post, but I am not sure what about this thread made you feel like people where talking shit about Chris.

Nick is a friend of mine. He is a really good dude, and he knows a lot about Canadian tattoo history. He also just purchased a whole bunch of Don Nolan flash that I am going to take a look at next week. Nick is still tattooing in Vancouver, and I can put you in touch with him if you are interested. Jerry Swallow has been back east for awhile, but he shop in Victoria is called Government Street, and Chris David and D-Boy Sanchez work there (or own it, I am not sure which) and they put out some great tattoos.

I am almost certain that this tattoo is on The Gus, and was done by Matin Lacasse. Both work at Olde City in Philly. - - - Updated - - - I should add that I have been wanting something along the lines of this for awhile. I love this old bike style shit.

Jason Brooks can do a decent snake.

Chris Garver does killer snakes. I met Frank Romano at the Seattle Convention about three years ago, and he has an awesome cobra that Chris did on his stomach. And the one he did on Tim Hendricks is bad as shit as well.

I spent three months in Thailand, and flew over to Siem Reap for a week. I really enjoyed it, but I had already been in Thailand for a few weeks. I think that helped with getting used to the poverty in Southeast Asia. Cambodia is a poor country. You will be asked for money constantly, and most of the time by small children. It is very hard to say no. My buddy and I gave away a lot of money during the week we were there. The money didn't matter, but it was hard for me to not feel guilty about having so much and them having so little. Otherwise, it was an incredible place. Everyone we encountered was kind and friendly. It seemed like nearly everyone spoke English so communicating was no problem. We were treated so well, and ate so well that I was sad to leave. Angor Wat is a special place, and I hope that I get to go back someday. Rent a scooter to get around on. We rented bicycles, and I probably sweated out six gallons of water (by water I mean beer) a day. Some of the temples are pretty far out there, and you might get a little lazy on a bicycle in the heat.

Walt has the still has the ricin. Hank won't bring the DEA into this until he is absolutely sure that Walt is Hisenberg. That means he will probably confront Walt after doing some research. Then Walt will have the choice of killing Hank or giving up everything he has worked for. Will Jesse end up killing Walt the way that Walt killed Mike? Jesse is the only guy that Walt would trust in a tight spot. There is a whole bunch of skinheads out there that Walt is mixed up with. And every character on the show with the exception of Skylar has underwent a pretty big transformation. There is no way that she makes it five seasons without some sort of change for the better or worse.

Priceline or Hotwire a hotel, and it will be much cheaper than any other option. I lived there for three years eating well and drinking constantly for very little money. I think Slayers advice was really good. The only thing I would add to it is Flyrite tattoo, and Greenpoint Tattoo. Mike Lucena at Flyrite, and Chuck Donaghue at Greenpoint are two great NYC tattooers that you don't hear about nearly as often as you should.

Lately I have been rereading a lot of books that I read before having kids. Having kids really cut down on my reading time, and I am just now starting to find some time again. The last three I read were "Ask the Dust" by John Fante, "The Last Temptation of Christ" by Nikos Kazantzakis, and "Tropic of Capricorn" by Henry Miller. These were all books that I enjoyed when I first read them, and still enjoyed this last time around.

A friend of mine was visiting New York and got tattooed by Grez on three days notice. I think he had a cancellation. If I were living in New York again I would get tattooed by Mike Lucena at Flyrite.

Jeff Jibran, Mike Bruce, James Buie, etc... Plenty of choices down there.

Trades don't really work for me (international shipping rates suck) but I am totally down for a good literary discussion thread. I will start off with a suggestion for you. Check out Breece Pancake. He only had a handful of short stories published, but they were pretty good. He was from West Virginia, and all of his writing was about that area. One of the stories "Trilobites" is probably my favorite short story of all time.

Matt tigers are awesome. My wife has one finished, and one in progress.

I follow you on Instagram, and I have really noticed your transformation. Congratulations on going about it in the right way. You look great. -
Jesse was unreliable. This kid is ambitious with criminal backing. Back then Walt needed Jesse as much as Jesse needed Walt. Now Walt just needs a friend, and this kid definitely is not a friend.

Walt is teaching some psycho kid with family ties in prison his recipe for cooking meth. Rookie move.

I like things to match up. I don't have my feet tattooed yet, but I do know what I am going to get on them. My wife has a couple of old pieces of flash. One is Tom Berg and the other Stoney St. Clair. They are similar in shape and theme so they go well together. I friend of mine has a jesus and a devil head both by Scott Harrison and they are awesome.

I am glad you posted these. Last week I took the time to make up a big post with examples of some roses that I love. I then deleted the entire post and I didn't have the heart or the time to put it all back together. I had also added a Scott Harrison rose (which are pretty hard to find on the internet), and a couple by Juan Puente. The thing that they all have in common is that no skin is left in them. They are colored in all the way to the outline. I really dig this style. I think it gives them a nice full look.
