  1. I would love to see it but, I don't blame you for not posting it. Bailey Robinson tattooed my left hand, and I think that I will either have Robert Ryan or AP Shrewsbury do the other.
  2. I was around a lot while Ed was getting that bodysuit. He had no tattoos and decided at 50 (or close to it) years old that he wanted a nine dragon bodysuit. It took almost two years of him flying to Austin for a week at a time. I am pretty sure that he told me the backpiece took five straight days.
  3. http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/war-stories/492-full-back-piece-thread-page11.html I am sure that Ursula will post on this sometime today, but until then here is her back in the Backpiece thread. Not a tiger, but you get the idea. Like I said before I am not trying to sway you away from an artist you like, but living that close to Mike Wilson gives you a great opportunity to get tattooed by one of the very best.
  4. It is in Jacksonville. You should go to whatever artist that you feel good about, and I don't want to talk you out of that. However, I am more conservative. If I lived a couple of hours drive from one of the best artists in the world, then that is where I would go. Especially if you are talking about tigers or tigers fighting snakes. No one does this type of material better than Mike Wilson, but that doesn't mean that the artist you are leaning towards would not do a great job. I am just saying take the trip to Inksmith and then see what you think.
  5. I think that I would drive over to Inksmith and Rogers, and ask Mike Wilson or anyone else there.
  6. That guy and his wife have incredible tattoos.
  7. My extravagant tattoos are posted all over this forum. I don't make them. I just wear them. Also I am sure that Forward appreciates having you as a spokesman for their company. Just the kind of press they want.
  8. Holy shit. I really need to start keeping up with the introduction threads. This one is a real peach. Honestly, it really reminds me why I enjoy this forum so much. It would be really easy to go down the line and trash the new guy, but instead honest opinions are being given with thought and consideration. Here is mine. Drive to Austin, TX. Take about six thousand dollars. Go see Jason Brooks, Chris Trevino, Steve Byrne, Jay Chastain, and Tony Hundahl give them the six-thousand dollars to tattoo you. Then go back to Weathorford. Save up another thousand dollars and drive to Mesa, Arizona. See Aaron Coleman. Give him the thousand dollars to tattoo you. I checked on Google maps and that is about 40 hours round trip driving from Weathorford for both trips. Then sit down and look at the seven-thousand dollars worth of tattoos you have just purchased, and try to figure out how they did it. Then cry yourself to sleep, and burn every piece of tattoo equipment that you have ever bought on Ebay. At least this way you will have a few good tattoos to show for your efforts. I am sorry that I have not been as kind as the other members on here, but it has been a long day, and reading your insulting posts made it that much longer.
  9. You gotta love someone that has the balls to haggle over a cover-up on his neck. Sounds like this guy is full of good decisions.
  10. I drink beer, or a couple of rum and cokes. My last session on my back was about 8 hours, and I took half a xanax at the start of the seventh hour. It worked incredibly well. I normally do not take any prescription medication so if I take it any at all it really hits me. When I was getting my ribs worked on I took a couple of Vicadin and it really fucked me up so I never did that again. I have never tried a muscle relaxer, and I doubt that I ever will. A tall beer and half a xanax will be my go to from now on. The good news for me is that I have most of my back, ass, and my left rib cage completed. That doesn't leave a whole lot of really tender spots. Any where else on my body has been a cake walk.
  11. Having Brian Bruno that close is super cool. He is shit is very different than Dana's, but it would be a real waste to be that close and not get tattooed by him. At least a tiger or two.
  12. Probably should have saved this one for your neck. It is sort of a Dan Higgs meets Dave Lum type deal. I love it.
  13. I work for a non-profit organization that houses people that are considered "hard to house". Most of the people that I work have a serious mental illness or are drug addicted, and more often than not both.
  14. I work with a lot of native people. The last thing that they are worried about is what white folks are getting tattooed. This is not a joke post. It is the truth.
  15. The only thing I hate more than college students is college journalists. What a pretentious bunch of assholes.
  16. I am like a small child. I like to see pictures when I am reading.
  17. Watch "Stoney Knows How". He talks about the biker flash that he has drawn, his opinions on it, and its meaning. He is not a fan, but he is running a business, and you got to give them what they want. I love the biker flash that he drew, and I will probably get some in the future, but it is easy to drop the swastika out of most of the designs. Personally I am too old to consider shock-value as a reason to do anything. That is for angry young men, and I am an angry old man.
  18. A few months ago I read something on Yoni Zibler's blog about tattooing sacred Buddhist images on people, and how it can be offensive depending on the placement of the tattoos. I have no desire to shit on anyone's culture or heritage, but I also don't have the time or inclination to look into every aspect of every image that I get tattooed on me. I see things that I like, and I get them. I would never get something with the specific intention of offending someone, unless that someone was a Conservative Republican asshole. Some of the old flash (especially the WWII era) can be pretty racist, and that doesn't appeal to me. The same thing for some of the old biker flash, and swastikas. My personal opinion is that it is the intention of the wearer that matters more than anything else. Here is the link to Yoni's blog. Tattooing & Art by Yoni Zilber
  19. I would like to tell you what I think of this, but I am afraid to.
  20. Maybe it is way more. I do not have cable, and I haven't seen one thing about the show other than on this forum so I didn't realize that it was being promoted that hard. I did watch a couple of episodes of Tattoo Highway, and I would not have guessed that he made that much an episode. If Olivier is making twenty and episode then Navarro has to be making $100,000.
  21. I looked it up on IMDB and there are eight episodes a season so my guess is about $5000 an episode plus expenses and residuals for all reruns. Nunez gets $7500, and Navarro gets $20000. I have no idea for sure, but I do know what the guys on Miami Ink got the first season so I am basing my guess on that. I have not seen the show so I don't know what kind of money they are spending on production, but my guess is very little.
  22. Both of my children were natural births. No medication, No doctor, only a midwife (and my very tough wife). The first was in hospital and we were there for about four hours. The second was at home. My wife and I are in total agreement with the "hospitals are for illness, and broken bones" way of thinking. We are lucky to be in Canada were it is more accepted than the US where it seems like every birth turns into surgery. I know that surgery is sometimes necessary, but most of the time it is because the doctor pushed the parents into it. I know this has been the case for most of my friends that have children.
