  1. What's next Stoney St. Clair butt plugs?
  2. I doubt that he will say anything. Maybe Mario or Nick can shed some light on this.
  3. I agree with Stewart. I check out this kid's blog, and I enjoy it, but this tattoo really bugs me. I will say that since the kid that has this has a face full of tattoos, the tiresome explanation of tattoos is already a big part of his life.
  4. Derrick Snodgrass and Jason Mcaffe. Both of those dudes make great tattoos and they seem to be able to work in any style.
  5. I will try this again. http://www.facebook.com/mattarriolaisdead#!/photo.php?fbid=226153867410955&set=a.163120863714256.40718.100000490300185&type=1&theater
  6. Here are a couple of photos of the tiger that Matt just finished on my wife.
  7. Next time ride the train on up to Vancouver.
  8. Nico, Maria Schneinder, Angie Dickenson, Rick Danko, my wife. In that order.
  9. The entire UFC is a big advertisement for what not to get when getting tattooed.
  10. I have had three sessions, around 7 or 8 hours, on my back so far. It doesn't hurt more than my ribs, but it doesn't hurt much less. I had planned on spacing it out over eight months, but the guy doing it, Matt Arriola, is moving to New York in July so the whole thing has been sped up a bit. Like Hogg I have found the healing to be very easy, but I generally do not have much trouble healing. It is a pain in the ass to wash for the first couple of days, but i have a wonderful wife that helps me out. I also agree with Valerie, take some pain killers, eat well, and don't plan on doing much else the day of the tattoo.
  11. Matt Arriola is doing my back. You have a good eye. Matt and Jason are friends. Jason did Matt's back (it is posted on the new Great Wave website). Is Nick Ley doing your back? I met him a couple of years ago, and he was a really nice guy, great tattooer. Chris Trevino has a Fudo Sword on his website that may give you some ideas as well. It is on the guy with the full body suit, but you can still get an idea of the backpiece as its own tattoo.
  12. photo-3 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! This a link to my back in progress, which is also a Fudo Sword. There will be black background added, but none will go below the ass cheeks. And Stewart is right your ass will hurt like hell. Especially the top of the crack.
  13. I know that people will hate me for saying this, but I will anyway. I feel sorry for Kat Von D. To me she is exactly what reality tv producers look for. An extremely insecure (bordering on mentally ill) person that outwardly appears to be confident and uncaring of what others think. Gordon Ramsay, the cast of any of the Real World MTV, Jersey Shore, the Kardashians, etc... These people are perfect because they can be easily lead by anyone that compliments them and validates their behavior. The producers take the most extreme parts of their personality and manipulate them into making that their whole personality. They then ride the person into the ground. It reminds me of the scene in True Grit where they ride the horse until it dies. My guess is that tattooing will survive this period in its long history, but Kat Von D will not. She will be used up by the producers and the advertisers, and left for dead like that horse in True Grit. Then she will turn back to tattooing and find out that it has abandoned her as well. I'm not saying that she does not deserve this. I'm not really sure what she deserves on either side of the coin, but I will say this. It is all very sad to me. I was getting tattooed at True Tattoo before anyone there was on TV, and it was a fun place to be. My memories of Kat are of a young girl that really looked up to Tim and Chris, and was becoming a pretty good tattooer herself. I don't have a lot or respect for the decisions she has made since that time, but I also do not think that she is completely to blame.
  14. That is great. A couple of weeks ago I was talking to someone about how cool just a giant Fudo head would be.
  15. Smith Street in Brooklyn. I think that Chad Koeplinger is there this weekend as well as the rest of the guys. Also Derrick Snodgrass is at Flyrite. Virginia Elwood NY Adorned. Sarah Schor Kings Ave.
  16. I think that a lot of the tattooers with the longest waits are the ones that do mostly large scale work. If someone is getting tattooed by Mike Rubendall (Chris Trevino, Mike Roper, etc..) then it is probably going to be a large piece that takes multiple sessions, and that person books multiple appointments. This means that one person's tattoo takes up a lot of that tattooers time so they end up tattooing less people. On the other side of things the dudes at Smith Street do mostly one shot tattoos, and are not booked out for years in advanced. Personally I would never book an appointment more than six months in advance, unless it was based on travel.
  17. You can't nail him down because so many people have nailed him up on a tattoo cross.
  18. It is expensive, but Father's Office has the best burger that you will ever eat. There is one in Santa Monica and one in Culver City.
  19. I lived in Boone for a summer many years ago, and I grew up about an hour away. It is a lovely place. Welcome.
  20. Tony Hundahl | Facebook If anyone can beat this please post it, but for me Tony Hundahl owns lion tattoos.
