  1. Took me & my wife a full minute.... great shti... CG
  2. Sinkin' to new lows here.... Sunday I took a cold 12-pack of PBR to the beach with me. Drank 9, gave 1 away and had the other 2 on Monday. Local s'market has 24 oz Genesee Cream Ale for $1.39... been hittin' those up all week. CG
  3. Another NYer.... we're takin' the joint over.. welcome! CG
  4. I say a coverup is in order... a grizzly bear eating black licorice in a cave... that would fix it right up. CG
  5. Right up there with having my 'nads run over by a lawn thatcher.... CG
  6. Dang... that's what homemade shit looks like when it grows up.... CG
  7. I hear they're doing a spinoff... bleeding hemorrhoid rescue..... about par for the reality show circuit. CG
  8. I was 22, married to wife #1 and owned my own house, so I was very much on my own, what could anyone say? My mom liked it, my dad didn't have much to say, which was what he had to say about everything. My mom became one of my biggest tattoo fans. CG
  9. .. you smell sandalwood incense somewhere other than a tattoo parlor and have a tattoo flashback. ..you carry business cards from your favorite shop in your pocket at all times to give out. ..you have your artist set as one of your cell phone speed dials.
  10. I'm ok with people I know well, just don't want too many people up the food chain to see or customers. Not really that much at stake, just my level of comfort with dealing with people. CG
  11. I've never watched a whole show.. me and my wife sat there and looked at each other in shock... and either of us will sit through any tattoo show, except for "Drinkin' n Inkin'". CG
  12. I always put down a big beach towel on my bed when I have very fresh ink. Everything has always washed out of it and I've never had any permanent damage to a bath towel. I can see the awkward issues with staying and haveing to wash away from home. CG
  13. I have no problem with what she's doing and there are probably countless people who have done or are doing the same thing. I'd rather have someone tattoo me who is an artist first and foremost. She can always pick up tattooing down the road if she chooses. BTW, she has captured that old-school style 110%. CG
  14. Both of my forearm tattoos end just over an inch from the line where the palm meets. And they are visible if I stretch or reach for something without thinking. I sort of unconsciously look around or just be careful when reaching for something. I always bring a dress shirt with me when I get inked and have some concerns. Me and the artist agree on where to stop the tattooing before it starts. The 3/4 sleeve is a great idea, wished I thought of it sooner. Too late now... Has anyone ever extended a 3/4 sleeve into a full sleeve and had it looking good? CG
  15. Greens are good.. ate this entire bag of Steam Fresh brussel sprouts last week. Of course served with butter, salt & pepper.... not one fart out of the whole effort.. felt cheated... CG
  16. 12" of mofuckingsquitos?? I hope your screens are in good shape.... CG - - - Updated - - - The thigh is a big expanse of skin and probably tends to dry out. I had a big forearm piece done a few days before I hit the road for Florida.. that flaked all over the place too. Had to carry a real small bottle of lotion on me since I was flying. CG
  17. I was talking with a friend last week, he's considerably inked on his back, arms and part of his chest. He had to have one of his lymph nodes removed under his arm recently, he had some auto-immune thing going on. The pathology came back okay, except that it was noticeably blue in color. Check the link below, apparently this is fairly common, wonder what color my lymph nodes are? Tattoo Pigment Mimicking Axillary Lymph Node Calcifications on Mammography The link was in relation to a mammography (tits ok with me...) but lymph nodes are lymph nodes. CG
  18. I like Corey Miller's work... but they pass him off on the show as a broke-dick artist scrambling to feed his family. I'll watch reruns of Lawrence Welk before I'll watch Drinkin' & Inkin' again. CG
  19. Most all tattoo artists I've known over the last few decades are a little out of step with the rest of the recognized work force. Mondays off... late starts... open late (which they have to be to take care of those who do work a 9-5). They tend to be a tad quirky, as most great artists through history are. However, the great tattoo artists out there are those who open the shop religiously on time, are there for appointments, treat the customer with respect (tough to do at times...) and bang out a great tattoo each and every time. CG
  20. Good for you and not everyone sees what a discipline it is to keep it going. You can really come up with some healthier choices very easily. Me... I'm on a beer and 7-11 burrito diet... my winter weight lifting bulk has gotten out of hand... CG
  21. The craziest shit I do is +/-.0001 on bores and things like that. I can grind between centers and hold .0002 all day, but love those .0005 jobs. These parts were a motor housing assembly, a real sick accumulation of tolerances. I had heard that it was for the Mars craft, forgot about it until my buddy told me. His shop had to be certified before he could awarded any part of the job. I've had to make things an an emergency basis too, nothing like that sub bearing though. That base at Groton is simply huge too, been past it on the ferry a few times. I've also made parts for the SR71 Black Bird, have things floating around above us in satellites as well. CG - - - Updated - - - Maybe a little one somewhere..... have to work on it. CG - - - Updated - - - Well earned! Someone I knew did his test, 5 hours and he looked like he was hit by a bus at the end. CG
  22. I'm hardly a tattoo snob and most of the local shops are quite good. As long as the tattoo basics are there, good solid line work, solid color, etc, the rest comes down to the wearer of the ink being happy with it. I've seen some really bad artwork in an otherwise well-executed tattoo. I saw one on the beach last week on a lady's back... a huge tat....an overall crappy tattoo in style and execution. I'm not one to pick apart someone else's ink, unless they ask my advice.. what can I do with this? Some opt for a cut rate deal in a hole in the wall shop and get whet they pay for. CG
