Thanks!
Thank you too! Started as a newbie back in the 1990's with 3 but pretty much became addicted when I reached my 40's (55 deep so far); I dig sleeves but like to have the option of getting small filler pieces. Here are a few more done by the same artist.
Mike.

Hi all, hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wish you all a happy new year. I still lurk the board from time to time and have had a bunch of work done since my last post over a year ago.
Here are some more all done by the same bud; Rasta @ Ink Assassins.

Howdy and welcome!
I've only been tattooed on the arms so far, but have been amazed how much difference in pain there can be between the top and underside of the arm... and difference in artists.

JAC1961 reacted to Cinnamon Girl in Newbie!! Hello! :)
Hello all! I stumbled across this site while googling different pain levels for tattoos on parts of the body. Have read some interesting threads on here. Glad to have found this place! 🙂 For me personally top of my back / between shoulder blades is the worst pain so far!
I got my hip/side done on Friday and after the 2.5 hour mark it started to hurt like a b*tch with the heavier lines but I got through it and I frikkin love it!! What do you all think? (Please excuse my fat arse.)
Some slight bruising, very tender and in the most awkward place! But overall very very happy 🙂
Anyway... Hi 😁

November 28 -- 2nd sleeve begins.
Once again, we returned to the studios of world traveling artist Scott Ellis. He's spent most of the last six months hopscotching Europe. I was happy to know ahead of time that he'd be back in Austin Texas for a few week -- plenty of time to start sleeve #2.
Scott suggested we try a Phoenix for this sleeve. Seemed to fit well with the dragon. Here is his notebook prior to my arriving:
As before, Scott creates the design in freehand. Took him about 3.25 hours. And as before, he was ever the perfectionist -- at one point an hour in wiping off my arm and starting again because he felt the bird's head was an inch off from where he wanted it.
As we progress, Scott goes through about four layers, increasing the detail with ever more fine brushes along the way.
Below are layer #3 and #4:
Taken in mirror:
And at least, we ink! 2.5 hours of linework.
Unfortunately, Scott is back off to Europe... so no shading stage until April. That's okay, it is worth the wait to be worked on by a master.

I shoot for 15% to 20% based on the estimated cost of the tattoo. I don't usually carry much cash, so I hit the ATM before my appointment. I also always tip in cash so it's their choice whether they report it.
When I was getting my half sleeve I was making a set of wooden toys for my grandson and knew my artist had a son of about the same age, so I made a second set for him. Gave it to him at my last appointment... it was a hit. 🚚

Outside of same leg... There's a tall ship on the back calf and a dagger rose down the shin. I'll try and see if I have good pics of those.. Jason did these too.

Inner calf addition to a leg sleeve I just completed. Done by Jason Walstrom @ Seawolf in Minneapolis.

Not the greatest pics but here's the ship on the back. Color fresh, outline and shading 2 weeks healed. Dagger is about 3 months healed.
