  1. The dude said he was soo full and there is a list to get a booth... which is cool. I think I got my hopes up because it was a friend of a friend type of thing saying just send this dude some pics and no problem... It's all good though. There are other routes, like just sitting in with someone in their booth... It was more like we wanted to be able to get our own gig going over there...
  2. I'm not sure yet... just trying to go with the flow...
  3. I submitted some pics for review to get into the london show... Not up to snuff I guess... even though I did get asked to send some stuff in for the magazine, it was a bummer.... But oh well, what are ya gonna do?
  4. Dammit... I read Karls post below, and then yours Patrick... I'm not even PMs'in and you're making me all misty eyed... fuck I hate being a chick. Love you KARL and yes, you will have to come visit the new spot... It's going to be something.
  5. Ya'll are seriously soo fucking sweet for backing the Sir Stell... Ya'll make this whole thing more worthwhile and enjoyable then any one piece of art or whatever could... I'm glad that everyone had a good time and liked their tattoos, cause there has been like a handful of dudes that, well.... He'd rather fart in the middle of their tattoo then have to even talk to them let alone tattoo them.... Keep him happy, and he will always deliver a good time, with a tattoo happening in the meantime... Ya'll bout made both of us teary. Thanks and Damn Karl, we miss the fuck outta all ya'll. . .
  6. Based off an old Zeis design I think that's what I heard, not 100% I need to double check that.... Richard put this tattoo on @phickey ...
  7. Hummm... Well, his minimum is $200.00, and his hourly rate is $200.00, but he typically charges by the piece, and I give you an estimate based on what he guestimates depending on: Area being tattooed, the design, and where the tattoo is being done at, like if it's a convention or if we're at a shop... Most people say he's a "fast" tattooer, he prefers the term "efficient", he gets what most people do in two or three sittings done in one shot.
  8. I updated the website finally: www.richardstelltattoos.com the split sheet he did with Aaron Coleman is up for grabs thru the site... Calendar has been up'd too... So there. :)

    Hi

Hey Dan... Good to see you on here.
  10. Excuses, everyones got one. . . Coming up in this stuff isn't easy, period. Get used to it, or have a backup plan. Using ignorance as an excuse for anything reeks of laziness... Like a little girl that would rather holler for mom to bring her something to drink, as opposed to getting off her ass and getting it herself... I don't know if you are seeking an apprenticeship, or already in one, or merely a 15 year old who's taking an art class, and simply curious... But the last thing this world needs is another tattooer with a "cool guy know it all attitude", I think we've met our quota for the decade already. While I may respect your opinion, I don't agree with it. ig·no·rant   [ig-ner-uhnt] adjective lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned: an ignorant man. lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact: ignorant of quantum physics. uninformed; unaware. due to or showing lack of knowledge or training: an ignorant statement. Ignorance is ignorance, you are not born with it; but you are the only one that can be responsible for your own level of it.... You are born with an open/blank mind wired individually with infinite space to store and retain anything, you grow up learning the basics, hopefully thus attaining some sort of common sense, a difference between right and wrong. And while you may have been brought up knowing one thing, because that was what you were taught, or not taught, as an individual it's your duty and right to change, and grow as you learn, but it's all up to you... It's not up me to watch out for what people know or don't know I don't want to play defensive driving all throughout the road of life. It's your life, you are the only one that will be accountable for making something of yourself. You can make broad generalized statements about anything, and while you may not be wrong, it doesn't mean know what you are talking about. I'm not trying to be shitty, I'm just being real. I have a soft spot for the new kids in school, and if I didn't, I wouldn't have wasted soo much time responding to that statement if I didn't care about the future and progression of tattooing and tattoos in general. Seriously the last thing this place needs is another uneducated unchecked egotistical tattooer... Remember the following quote: Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. Mark Twain
  11. Just figured it'd be smart to post up... We're still in Mesa, at Immaculate, Richard and Aaron Coleman had been working on a few new split sheets, and they finished and have one in production, and I have those on hand as well... Coleman took off to the Rome Convention that happening this weekend... And then him and the misses are taking some much need time off to enjoy some downtime... Leaving Mando Rascon here all by his lonesome, which he can totally handle it, but we need to address a few things regarding the 6 or 7 motorcycles he has at a buddies house out here that were supposed to be getting worked on, but I guess not... So we have some shit to tend to, and then a few more appointments, and lots of time open... Going to get a nice vacation rental for a couple weeks, and soak up some sun, and whatnot... From here, we are heading towards the Inksmith's in New Mexico, if they are at their compound when we roll through, then back to Dallas to round up more motorcycles, and then either straight to Tulsa, OK to start up a shop, or maybe Houston to sell a house we have down there that's going to waste... But once we get to Tulsa, other then a handful of conventions and shop spots, you can come to us... The road is long, and hard, but what a trip.
  12. The world needs more people like YOU... That do your footwork, and headwork, then make a good decision, and follow thru with it... The WORLD needs more Tattoo Admiration from "Professional Collectors"... People that have impeccable taste in tattoos, and tattoo art in general, that love it soo much to leave it the fuck alone, and just get tattooed, because they respect it enough to let it be...
  13. I'm going to hop on my soap box for a second and give everyone a little rant: Who cares? Really? When I first got into this I looked at it like a business mostly... Capitlaism, blah, blah, blah.... Fuck that noise now. Over 12 years now, I look at it like this, as my husband always said even when I first came into his shop... "You never really see rats jumping on a sinking ship... Why in the Fuck would any smart and skilled person want to do this for a living? It's not easy, it's not cool, and it's not a life easily lived, why?" BUT, in this case, yeah... It's much too cool, to not WANT to do it... You can blame TV, you can say it's more accepted, but it's not really... If there are still small towns in the middle of nowhere, and you needed to stop and get some help, they would look at you sideways, say sorry, can't help ya, move along stranger... Deal with that bullshit for a good few years, you might change your mind about how accepted it is... But while all us are busy bitching about it online, the real heros, and pros are busy, working... Tattooing and painting and putting their stuff out there. Putting the real work in. So in an effort to save time, and typing do us all a favor, just get tattooed, don't get attracted to it, between the hours, the people, the drugs, the bullshit, it's not something you can just do, it's something that does you. OK, end rant. Tattooing and this life inevitably chose me, like it does with anyone that partakes it, NOT FOR THE MONEY, but purely out of LOVE for the craft, that love is the drive that keeps us rolling around doing what we do....That's my take. PS... all the new kids and folks hopping on this site need to go back into the older parts of the forum, and read everything there that they might be thinking about, cause all this stuff has already been brought up before, while I am happy the site is gaining members, I am tired of re-reading old stuff, that's not really relevant to life, and tattooing right now. Ok, end of second ps rant.
  14. @Hands On Thanks, I had a bad accident with my mac book pro, the screen and screen assembly broke, I had all the photos from this last go at it on here, and after dumping too much into a macbook, I ended up trusting this apple service shop and had them replace the broken pieces on the pro... and finally I got it back, and it's been too liong since I did a photo dump and proper updates, so as I go thru stuff, I will be posting up, this site needs more content... I figured it's the least I could do... Besides Lochlan and Scott are good dudes, it'd be cool to see it do well.
  15. @hogg @dcostello Thanks... and hogg... I'd say bring it on... Those Pardus Panthers are tricky, he has it down, but it's been hilarious, and sometimes sad to see some other people pull it off, the shading is completely different then normal black panthers... I guess it's a new trend, just glad Richard started it... And when I picked the first one for the client he did it on, he was pissed cause he didn't know if he could pull the version off, it had never been attempted, but now... It's something we're both super proud of....
  16. A few of Richards Dragons... More western/ Americanized... I like these creatures, they are so complex even in the simpler versions.
  17. Here's a few of Richards that I am fond of...
  18. Here is the Melanistic Pantera Pardus piece he did on Thea Hogan at American Graffiti in Sacramento...
  19. Tigers... Richard's to be specific, and I tossed his latest Tiger-Shark in too... He can never get tired of the big cats... I have soo many Pantera Pardus, and Leopard heads, and hyena's... But he always comes back to the tiger.
  20. Some of Richards recent panther tattoos from our current road trip...
