You can milk a cow all day long, it doesn't mean you're getting any... A time limit shows you can either get it done, or you can't... Please read further back into the post, as most of the new topics that come up in this thread have already been addressed... Most of the "canvases" aren't coming back for a second sitting... And who knows if they would even want to? Seriously? And, when at a convention, and someone walks up asking for a piece, I know what is possible to accomplish, as opposed to some unrealistic opinion of how amazing Richard is, I know what can be done, and what will need more then one sitting. It's one of those don't bite off more then you can chew things... Knowing one's limitations is a good thing.

yeah... I'll have a better idea of what's going on with 2013 in December. It's getting to where we can't keep up with it all. . . Or I just have been out of a shop so long I am having to reprogram myself to keep up w/ that, and be good at being on the road still... I know it seems trivial, I just like to be on point, I feel like I am getting thin skinned trying to retain it all: Schedules, appointments, designs, setup, breakdown, taking care of the man, and making sure each client is 100% or more happy with it all, and all the other joys of being a shop owner again, etc... Sound Fun? Haha, it is... Too bad I'm getting old, and can't keep up with the cool kids anymore. Actually thank god for that. Maybe I'll be tattooing or at least painting again regularly by the end of the year. Jen -
I remember that!

After two formal emails, I got a message saying that the tattoos that were terrible and couldn't be fixed they did attempt to help with laser removal... But that the canvases know what they are signing up for an unsure thing... but yes, I have and will continue to have the same sentiments... that all clients should get something they deserve, and these vets next week... I cried, and Richard had two anxiety attacks...

YUP... It's The Walker Texas Ranger Episode: A Matter of Principle... And Richard and I kinda got a vibe that the contestants would be trying to get a rise out of him: Contradictions & EXCUSES we're tiring, Richard really wanted to practice what he preached, manners, restraint, representing Real Tattooers in a positive light...and knowing when your advice or words meant nothing (because the fuckers "KNOW" tattooing), if it so why help them... ? (He didn't want to shit on the floor, but he could have, after seeing the bullshit we did.) I don't know whats going to happen, but I am happy that some real tattoo masters like Rubendall, Richard, and the like, are going to be on the series, it helps make these assholes look bad. (Richard doesn't consider himself a master), he wants to keep learning... And that's the lesson we learned in NYC.
-
I will say this: Oliver, Nunez, and Navarro work crazy long hours, and deal with bullshit on a level that I would not want to even conceive to sign up for... I was just happy that we got to get over and see Bert, Boltz, and the guys at S.S. in Brooklyn, and make some dough which put us within our mark of shop $tart-up. I got to go see Higgs, Hooper, Kings Ave, Invisible, and even though I'm still tired, we even had a convention the weekend we came back.... It's all worth it, we love tattooing, and this was for Oliver, after everything him and Richard lived out, it's hard for us to say no, making up for lost time... I just wonder how the fuck they are going to edit all the fucks that came out of Richard mouth... PS, Navarro shreds in his room sometimes when they aren't on set... He's good. Most people don't want to disturb him, but they needed him on-set, and they sent Richard to get him... Hahaha... Richard got him.
-
Yup... Richard and I were in NYC last for this and the Smith Street Guest Spot... It was interesting, but painful... Next week, is the Traditional Round. Richard is the Guest Judge... And, he ripped into everyone, and even snapped at Navarro, but in the end. They signed up to be judged, and so they were.

Time to reconfirm or setup appointment time/days with me ... And we're packing light so if there is a painting you're wanting, or a print in mind, drop me a message. -

Head's up... Dallas, we had a couple last fucking minute cancellations, so I am pushing out leaving Tulsa another 4-5 days or so...I am not satisfied with where we are at... it seems as only now things are starting to roll, but that's life... We're having fun, but super tired, and hot... the ac in the old whorehouse hasn't been on, it's brand new but the wiring and circuitry is really old, and kinda rigged up as opposed to put together.... we have demo'd, what needed to come down, and are now building the inner bones of the shop... He only has two appointments so holler... lot's of time open, if not, we're grabbing motorcycles, gear, and a few other important things that need to be home... and HOME is now Tulsa, OK... thank god. I'm so tired, I'm sorry I haven't posted a bunch, or even been onsite, but all is well and if you need to get ahold of me, it doesn't take that much to do it. . . :) And, still got time, in Harker Heights, SFO, Richmond, and whatnot... so holler. -

I have not one panther tattoo on me... But, you're right to each their own, and when you find something you like and it feels right, none of this malarky/ jibber jabber/ opinions/ stuff will matter... And I will quote my ole Man, " Just because it's a traditional design doesn't mean it has to be ugly, or dumbed down", Richard Stell Make it what you want, but don't going calling it "Neo-traditional", or Neo Trad, that's a whole 'nother oxymoron I don't feel like even touching. As well as "New School, new school means that you would rather skip learning the traditional steps to the tattoo dance and show up do your own "walk like an egyptian", and call it new school. You can't do the tattoo dance if you don't learn the steps first. Non sequitor. Sorry. -

SOme would say the word Delicious is overplayed, and would rather hear words like Yummy, or tasty...truth is Delicious is a classic way of stating all the above. And... the word is suitable for all occasions, kinda like a traditional design. -

So, we're here in Tulsa, OK... There are about 45-60 new shops, as in less than 6 months old, lots of spaces to rent, but... we have manners and don't want to start up across the street from anyone already tattooing, and the realtors that have the good spaces, that are over 2k a month, with no shops around don't want a tattoo shop, but the perfect little space that is up for grabs all alone is surrounded by churches and a vacant middle school... And that's really weird to set up right in the middle of a church zone. -
Yeah.. well, between one tattoo artist I am dealing with legally, and another few tax and previous divorce issues, I asked Shannon, I spoke to three attorneys... It's like this, I don't always give a damn about personal shit online, even if it is "Business"... The heart of the matter was, I wanted to warn my fellow peers, and mentors, what the fuck was up...

I cam across TattooDonkey.com like 6 months ago when I got a notification about some images being posted elsewhere on the international web.... So, I check it out, ok... NBD just a few photos, then... I notice you can also down load this shit... Then it wasn't until yesterday that Eric Perfect posted some shit up about him having flash posted there and being sold in downloads, only catch is, he didn't post the pics, nor authorize it, or consent.... Three different lawyers and last night I was like ahh, still, even though the lawyers are like it's not worth worrying about, I was freaking out... Our Art work literally is what feeds, clothes, and shelters us... And we bust ass... So this was like another shit nail in the coffin. And this has been the case with not only FLASH, but Fine Art Print Reproductions, Photos of Originals, and photos of tattoos and tattoos being done, as well as crap drawings, and then the creepy family pics people are finding that this site, went in and harvested and downloaded all these pics with noe ones consent or knowing, immediately turnaround upload and post to their site with a high resolution download that anyone can buy take and use, fuck the originator of said image right?...And they did this and had staff reupload, and they knew all along that they had not notified anyone about this... But by posting on their site that is was user created shared database, is completely fraudulent... BUSTED. If you have time, go to that site.... Start keywording any work you may have put online, had someone else put in a blog, etc,,, last name suffices usually... Copy and pastse all this stuff together and then you will need to submit it all back to the company and do it fast before they take everyone shit down so they can claim it was just pulled we had no idea.... I even saw images that had the Last Sparrow Tattoo mark on it, which means they came to this site, and harvested everyones photos... Ours includes... So... Tattoo Donkey and something like this: To: [email protected] From: (YOUR NAME) and EMAIL Subject: DMCA notice, site stealing major content CC: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] First of all, if you even have lawyers, you should have been told that you do not qualify for "safe harbor" protection under the DMCA. Your site "tattoodonkey.com" is posting thousands of photos of other people and other people's art without any permission, and it is very obvious that you are wholly aware of this. You are not operating in good faith and can not hide behind the DMCA. What are you doing is wholly illegal under US and International law. You surely know that, and your "disclaimer" in no way protects you. Because you are charging for these photos and also filing them under my and other people's trademarks, you are putting yourself up for a great many damages. You are using many pictures stolen without permission of me, from my website, and I would wager that not even one percent of the photos you are using are legal. In fact, I would go so far as to say that every single image on the site is stolen. Your site actually came to my attention because of the vast number of tattoo artists upset at the thefts of their photos and designs. There are few well-known -- or even lesser known -- artists who won't find their material stolen on your site. The following images, and I suspect many others that I have not found, are mine and I insist that they are removed immediately. Attach list of links to images not rightfully posted that belong to you... then send it off... Ahh, I can sleep better tonight, this stuff was fucking with me hard last night.

You're talking about the Porkchop sheet he painted and we started a run of prints in 2010 at the SFO show... Still have a couple.. and yeah Richard has done like 7 or 8 Rosey Knees that I can think of on a bunch of Dallas ladies... It's pretty and it's not a symmetrical nightmare..

I have known Shannon and Rachel for YEARS.... It's important that we act on a whole one community level, and all respond accordingly, that way when it comes time to see if they have made profits from everyone else's shit, including our stuff, we will be able to make em pay or shut that site the fuck down.

I asked my friend Shannon Larratt about what he knew about the laws and if he could see if this site could be held accountable for selling downloads of other peoples original art tattoos, and prints, etc with out the creators consent.... Here's How to deal with it.... Richard has numerous stuff on their site so I am going to have to do this as well... THANKS A BUNCH SHANNON! I've just had "tattoodonkey.com" brought to my attention, a website that is selling stolen images en masse, mine included (even a photo of my daughter). They are using clickbank.com to charge for it, so I've contacted them, their hosts, and everyone. I would suggest that everyone else do the same if they find their photos. Here is the letter that I sent and who I sent it to. What they are doing is completely illegal and while they are trying to hide behind a disclaimer and DCMA notice. Complete scumbags trying to profit from the hard work of this community. ==== To: [email protected] From: Shannon Larratt Subject: DMCA notice, site stealing major content CC: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] First of all, if you even have lawyers, you should have been told that you do not qualify for "safe harbor" protection under the DMCA. I am quite certain that this is only a small percentage of my photos that you are using, but they are the most obvious. I expect them removed immediately, and would like confirmation of this, and want to be very clear that I do not give you permission to use any photos of me or photos from any of my blogs or sites, now, in the past, or in the future. If you have sold downloads of any of these images I demand that those payments be immediately remitted to me. Again, I insist on these being removed immediately. Searching for terms like "zentastic", "larratt", "bme", "bmezine", show me multitudes of stolen photos to which you have no legal right to post, let alone charge for. Highlighting the fact that you are bulk-downloading other people's content indiscriminately, I noticed this image: http://www.tattoodonkey.com/-2008-bmezinecom-and-shannon-larratt-tattoos-piercings/b0.img.v4.skyrock.net*b08*carvedinskin*pics*2809502475_small_1.jpg/ is actually labelled "2008 Bmezinecom and Shannon Larratt" which is from the original copyright text -- "© 2008 BMEZINE.COM and Shannon Larratt". It's shocking the extent to which you are willing to steal content. I have CC'd this to your hosts and the EFF as well. I have also CC'd this to BME, a large commercial entity -- who actually does hold legally binding rights to these photos and can easily prosecute you on numerous grounds -- from which you have obviously downloaded pictures from as well. I have also contacted certain media. I have also notified ClickBank who appear to be handling your sales. I suspenct they may not be happy that they are helping you to sell stolen merchandise, thereby putting their business at risk as well. I hope you will choose to act ethically -- and legally -- on this matter. Shannon Larratt zentastic.com founder and former owner of bme.com
