Yeah - so 2 hours was quite enough on this today thanks.... more on this in a month or so -
-
Unexpected cancellation has resulted in the opportunity to add to the kraken/ship/aeolus this afternoon - nice when that happens :-)... skeletal hand holding a night and day hourglass... why not.
-
Here we go then - From the Ministry in Farnham (UK) this afternoon :-) - getting there on this piece - another session booked for June.. The marvellous Ben Dunning again -

Off to get some wind in my sails this afternoon Ministry of Ink Farnham UK Earth.

Went to the rather excellent Brighton Tattoo Convention yesterday - didn't plan on getting a tattoo... but the marvellous Habba Nero was there handpoking runes.... it seemed rude not to really.... Tis on my lower leg. Never been non-machined before - it was very gentle.

@JAC1961 - hows the healing going - tattoo looks great so far - will be great to see progress as it goes... 2 hours sounds rapid!
-
@JAC1961 - thanks... ship was ok over two sessions - was convinced kraken wouldn't be too bad for one sitting... was wrong ... final bits of white highlights resulted in a certain amount of fortitude failure :-)

Thanks @Gingerninja ! Keep forgetting to mention all my recent work has been done at Ministry of Ink in Farnham UK by a chap called Ben Dunning - boat and Kraken were not really his "style" and were to designs worked up by my Mrs (who usually does quilts). Suffice to say I did not "sit like a rock" for this one and there may have been some quiet swearing involved :-)...

Kraken.... goes with the boat... done today ...

I have tattoos of magpies and a connection to the atom :-) Also music...
-
I have to admit to being 50 at this point then :-)... thought it was just me with the continuing tattoo thing ...obviously not then- which is of course marvellous.

7 magpies finished -

Back in to my friendly local tattoo emporium this Thursday - rework of 25 (ish) year old dragon - before and after in the pics -

Here's a little boat then...... about 3 weeks ago now....

'Ello- you are pretty much doing what I do (including the Bepanthen - some don't like it - suits me just fine) - I have never had proper scabbing using Bepanthen - just some minor flaky stuff that kind of wipes down when putting on the cream. Had my last bits and pieces on my arm 2 weeks ago and now pretty much healed - used Bepanthen for a week and a half. Raised bits are normal in my experience and should settle down - takes a while for the whole thing to bed in after healing - couple of months-ish for me... your mileage may vary :-).

Just thought I'd put this out there - the pentagram is also an early Christian symbol ... other religions also - it's a bit of a standard meme - the association with the pagan or wiccan is very modern - ta

I've had tattoos for a very long time now... and it is interesting how a first tattoo choice seems to have crept down to more visible spaces as the years have passed - in olden times first tats would typically be shoulder/upper arm... This is no longer the case - with sleeves these days seemingly proceeding upwards rather than downwards.... it's madness I tell you :-). I am getting old though - I was chatting with my tattooist chap about such things and he is getting more youngsters than ever looking for finger/hand/neck tattoos. I would certainly consider such things but would only have the confidence to do so after my retirement. That said it is very true that the tattoo universe has changed substantially over the last 30 years in it's relationship with the real world - at my place of work we have a dress down Friday - the young 'uns don't seem to mind their ink out on display ....and I've heard no disparaging murmurings from the old guard. Me - I wear long sleeved shirts - but... that's just me. It would be interesting to hear how many others have colleagues at work with no idea re the mileage of their inkage - I'm sure it's not just me (or is it :-) )?

today's shenanigans - or at least bits of it -

i wouldn't bother with numbing cream myself. It's your first tattoo - people react in different ways - you might find it not bad at all - Ribs can be... trying, but if its not an entire rib piece I wouldn't be overly concerned about it... Never had an "unbearably" painful tattoo... not so far anyhow... :-)
-
nice! - would be great to see it healed also - hopefully that's going ok for you .... the piece on my calf seemed to take ages to heal - same with shin - maybe to do with blood flow - or trousers ? AM

'ello - Interesting conundrum - is "skægget i postkassen" correct for a tricky choice? Looks like great work there from that Danish tattoo lady - always difficult to comment on something that's such a personal thing. Me - I would sleep on it and see what the old Gods present you with - cheers - AM
