Hi, I am a 22 year old mom and student who currently does not have any tattoos but is considering getting one. The one that I am thinking about is a tattoo of the platonic solids, which are polyhedrons made up of congruent polygonal faces where all the sides are of equal length and all the angles are equal. There are only five of them, the tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron. On a mathematical level, they're fascinating to me. They also have some historical, sacred geometry-type associations, with each one representing water, earth, fire, air, and aether. I don't mind the associations with the elements, I actually sort of like it, I've always felt very connected to nature in all it's forms, but the sacred geometry association makes me a bit hesitant. It's a pretty big thing where I live, and although I respect it, it isn't something that I necessarily believe in personally or something that has much significance to me. My main hesitation is whether people will see the tattoo and immediately associate it with sacred geometry, which I know virtually nothing about. and am not entirely interested in. I honestly just like polyhedra on a mathematical, conceptual, and aesthetic level. Would it be inappropriate for me to get the tattoo for those reasons? Any insight would be very appreciated, thanks in advance!
