Put a few more hours in today. Knocked out a few sensitive spots in the inner arm as well as some shading..... until next Tuesday

Its cool man. I wouldn't over think it. Its art not science. Perfection takes the "character" out of it.

3.5 hours put in today by Tim and I. We covered a lot of ground, outlining my entire arm. the ditch of my arm wasn't awesome. Unfortunately for me theres an oni head right there so its going to seeing a lot more abuse. The atmosphere at atlas is rad, theres absolutely zero ego floating around. Everyones interested in what their peers are doing. Stoked to head back next week.

My girlfriend bought me this book along with the finger wave book vol.1 & 2. Now I'm left waiting for mysterium to ship. Good think I have two books to melt my brain until then.

Just dropped by Atlas to see the rendering Tim drew up. The 3rd can't come soon enough.

It appears to be a lot of movemen in the Oakland SF area with artists moving around or out.

Colin Baker. Working next the the likes of Horitomo I can understand living in the shadow. That being said I think he is killing it right now.

Whats Jef's current status?

I think Brian Bruno, Jason Kundell, Kahlil Rintye, Jill Bonny and Kevin Leblanc who aren't huge self promoters are widely overlooked by the "main stream." This serves as a double edged sword in my opinion. In talking with some of these artists who intentionally avoid social media still have a steady stream of clients coming in for work. I also think there's something to be said for artists to gain the recognition we feel they deserve. You also have the likes of Mike Roper who intentionally keep it low key. I would venture to say he's only known by the dedicated few but thats all by design. In the end I don't think I'd change a thing. Its nice to get together with those who share the same vision of what tattooing mean to them,who appreciating good work and the artists who have withstood the change in culture. The dudes laying down great tats decade after decade without letting the latest trends in. Tattooing needs the "Brads" of the world are getting super pumped about their new water color hand tattoos from the coolest artist this week.

Looks like Lango, Lewis and Yoturo have all flown the coop. Does anyone know who's filling chairs at Skull and Sword?
