  1. It looks like it was done by a competent tattooer, but not by one that really knows or does Japanese very well. The whole energy and flow of it seems disrupted.

Not really. Hunter is a traditional tattooer. Therefore he is going to approach a tattoo that way. I prefer Japanese style tattoos with a "traditional" approach. Different strokes for different folks.

  2. Just let it heal. Colors will soften quite a bit.

And Gloucester...and good friend of mine from there recently passed away. I unfortunately was just there some weeks ago.

  3. I think it is a product of culture(s) today. Many of us (I'm as much to blame as anyone), use Google to figure out what ailment we have, use Yelp to figure out what restaurant to eat at, use Amazon reviews to figure out which pair of headphones is best. There is no problem with word of mouth, but there becomes a point when people no longer use their intuition and best judgement to make decisions, and instead opt for the majority rule. We no longer let ourselves experience anything. Unfortunately, Orwell's and Huxley's premonitions are starting to render themselves true.

  4. I always sleep in saran wrap after a tattoo. It helps with the swelling and (with a little Aquaphor) helps the healing process. I mean, as long as you're not getting tarred and feathered, the sweat should wash away any corn starch. And how long are you racing? A 5k or 10k should be no problem at all. 30-45 minutes and then you can towel off and clean up.
