I was passing through that way last year,and checked out a few shops.I was talking with this tattooer named Joel Molina@ All For One Tattoo A real nice guy who does some nice traditional work.

I don't know how many times I've said the phrase "Sometimes I wish I was fat so I could get more/bigger tattoos".

Acme Tattoo - Cville has Jason Boyer, who is a badass who also is the touring guitarist for Sleigh Bells. Staunton, hit up Tim Forbus at Acme Tattoo - Staunton. Go to Lynchburg and get tattooed by Josh Brown. Drive up to Harrisonburg, and get tattooed by Andrew Conner. Or drive to Richmond and you have Matt Brotka at Salvation, and Mike Rennie at Absolute. Or go to Petersburg and visit Tantrum. I realize I am repeating just about everyone else's choices. BUT YOU GOT CHOICES SON.

@Androosh, i am so very sorry for your loss. i haven't lost my parents, but i've lost grandparents, and so many friends. there is no good advice, and i am sitting here feeling for you man. take care of yourself and your family.
