  1. I had fix for the Refused show on Sunday in NYC. BUT I DIDN'T GO LIKE A DINGDONG. God, I'm getting old. I'm making up for it by going to see Godflesh, Unsane, and Today is the Day at Maryland Deathfest.
  2. Anybody at Black Heart can make this happen!
  3. Depends on what type of tattoo you were interested in getting. Most of these folks are able to do just about anything, but they do specialize. Are you looking for an American traditional piece? A Japanese style? Something just plain weird? You can run the gamut in San Francisco with some of the best tattooers in the world.
  4. Yeah, who's that? :) Sounds like a kitchen magician.
  5. That Owen Jensen app sure is fancy. Oh wait...those are just pictures of NYC hipsters...
  6. Lango is definitely slept on, but I guarantee that won't last for long.
  7. You're totally beating me! I go back up to Saved in July.
  8. My girl just started this over the weekend. Mike Moses, Thicker Than Water Tattoo, NYC. This guy is consistent blowing my mind with his illustration skills. (Photo courtesy of Mr. Moses' iPhone.)
  9. Speaking of the wait. I've got a four-month wait for my next session, but I really don't mind it too much. It gives me a little time to put some scratch together and plan for travel. I think a lot of us would get tattooed everyday (figuratively) if we could, but you know, we got some time to get suited out.
  10. I feel you dude. Even working full-time doesn't make it easier, I guess unless you make a lot of money. But, you can only do what you can. It definitely makes up for it in the end.
  11. @Kev, yes!!! I think it's almost mandatory you get an NYC tattoo at Smith St. at some point.
  12. Yeah man. I think most of us know that it isn't very polite to discuss how much someone charged you, etc etc. People who make it about the money don't care about the art. Luckily, those of us who actually get solid tattoos by solid tattooers can say so. I mean, bragging itself is poor manners, but it sure is nice knowing in your head. My mom told me a story once about how she was checking out at the grocery store. The person in front of her was covered in shitty tattoos. She called me later, relayed the story and said, "The only thing I could think was my son has so much nicer looking tattoos." :)
  13. ^^^^^^. I second that. I've been wanting to get down to Hot Stuff for some time. My friends own a record shop called Harvest just down the street.
  14. They booked an appointment for Steve, but he doesn't work on Saturdays. Which was totally ok, because Eli Quinters came through and banged this out. Dude is so rad! (Sorry for the fuzzy pic.)
  15. Getting tattooed by Steve Boltz in less than 2 hours. Images imminent.
  16. I'm in NYC tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday. Well, seeing Refused on Sunday. Squidpant party?
  17. Haha, I hope so too. I didn't have the Wacom tablet hooked up. Oh crap, let's face it, I was never that good at drawing circles anyhow.
  18. Yikes dude. I don't know man, that's tough. Tattoos aren't perfect as they are done by human beings, who aren't perfect. But, you are going for a distinct look and feel, so it doesn't sound like you're gonna be too happy either way. Let it heal. Try not to fret too much, and then go to Jinx Proof ^^^^^^ and get it lasered off! Ok, you might now need to go to DC, but you'd probably be happier getting it removed and then starting fresh.
  19. This was the first issue I worked on, so I always get stoked seeing my name in print. Those guys are super rad to work with.
  20. And, I'm a total idiot. I see it there on the side now. Blargh.
