  1. @Jennifer Stell I felt this today when I was with my mentor. Just watching. It's true. I'm a product of him, and goddamn me if I let him down.
  2. Because they don't know you. That's why. I only just started my path to tattooing. I'm 30 years old. I've been getting tattooed for about 14 years now. I get tattooed often. I have developed friendships. And I'm so fortunate that my mentors see something in me. Not sure what it is yet, b/c even though this door has opened, I have to work very hard every step of the way. Just keep getting tattooed. Keep working on the fundamentals of drawing. Keep discovering the artwork in this industry that gets you so stoked that you can't imagine doing anything else for the rest of your life. And hopefully something will open up down the road for you. You've got to put a lot in before you get back. Good luck. And read what @Deb Yarian wrote. It's perfect.
  3. I don't know, Richard Stell is so badass, he might live forever.
  4. There are plenty of tattooers out there, that is for sure. The world needs more quality tattooers and less of the garbage that is currently parading around as "professional" tattooers.
  5. I did a stick and poke on myself. It was a girl's initials. I was 14. Smart move. Long since covered.
  6. I'm throwing another old one in because this is fun! Sorry for the gratuitous man-boobs. Andrew Conner. Harrisonburg, Virginia.
  7. @Graeme, like how much crazy you're trying to put into that thing? Cause I'm gonna say, "Gimme an amulet." That shit's gonna be crazy.
  8. Countdown. 45 days. Last sitting with Mr. O'Donnell. Gonna try and sneak in an apt with one of the Daniels' (Trocchio or Albrigo)
  9. You can get a detailed tattoo that holds up. But conversing with the tattooer is best. Where are you located and I do believe LST can give inside to the best places to go.
  10. AHHH, @CABS I saw that and was stoked. Good for you dude. Tomas is a character and a great story teller. He and @jayessebee are good pals.
  11. Welcome, good luck, all that jazz!
  12. I can't say Andrew Conner more than enough. He has done my arm and my chest. And he's also one of my mentors. So........
  13. what @David Flores said. I tend to believe other tattooers get stoked on seeing work from other superb tattooers. It more than not shows you have good taste! :)
  14. You ride Daisy to work four times a week? SAY IT AIN'T SO?!?!?!?!?!
  15. I'm currently playing Arkham City for the third time. Still seeking that elusive 100%.
  16. @Dan S you ain't gotta worry about that. I just hope to meet awesome people like you down the road.
  17. @Graeme, thanks man. Those are mostly just things I do while bored at work. I'll try to start posting more flash style stuff now that the cat is outta the bag. I was worried that 30 was too old to start, and my mentor was like, "Shit man, you'll be ramping up right when I am ramping down, and I'm only 6 years older than you." So, it'll be ok.
  18. I've been holding off on dropping the bag on this, but you guys are one of the first groups of people I have wanted to tell. Keeping it quiet for the last few months has been tough. I've started apprenticing with my good friend Jason Setchel in Roanoke, Virginia. It's been a while coming. It's been a while convincing myself this is something I could even do. But tattoos and tattoo art are the biggest joy I have in life, and I'm stoked that I have someone who I trust who thinks I have what it takes to be a solid tattooer. My only goal is to keep the soul of tattooing alive and well. Luckily, you fine folks do a damn good job at it. It's amazing that you all are here.
  19. @Johannes, we can get stoked all day erry day. It's the INTERNETZ!!!
  20. Kinda stoked on this one. We can thank Jason Brooks and his tat-wizardry for this. LEGENDS - Tattoo Flash Book
