  1. Blowing up everyone's cover right now Brian. Hahaha.
  2. Can we find the person who has that tattoo and deport them?
  3. Man, and what an ugly Buddha tattoo it was. They should have deported her ass.
  4. @beez I actually bought that DVD. It's a fantastic documentary. Rising Son definitely deserves another watch. But I totally understand your sentiment!
  5. Tattoo Artist Magazine has shifted it's management and Kent Smith will now be the editor and chief. Changing of the Guard | TAM Blog I've chatted with Kent a little bit about this (but I had no idea he was going to take on the EIC role) and he hinted that TAM might transition to being more available to non-tattooers. Honestly, I don't see it being that much of a difference, the earlier issues that had more technical info has kind of gone to the wayside in the last few years, sans Shane Enholm's awesome article about the various Bulldog machine shapes. Sadly, you can find any information you want on the internet these days, so anything discussed is already available online. Kent is an awesome guy, I enjoy the work I do for them, and I know a lot of you folks would love to be able to purchase issues directly.
  6. I am really looking forward to this record.
  7. I drove to New York City on Friday and got into the city around 4pm. I left at 4pm the very next day. I'm very over being in a car.
  8. @irezumi that's really interesting. I'm assuming Tux spent a good amount of time in New York working with Nick, Thom and Elio (Espana?). Sorry this stuff fascinates me. I was at Kings Ave this weekend, and Chris was super cool to tell me stories about his first visits to 222 and Primal Urge when he had only been tattooing for a few years. I can't even imagine the impact it had on him.
  9. @irezumi how long did you work with Tux? East coast tattoo history, outside of NYC, hasn't been documented as well as it should have been. Of course Paul Rogers and Cap Coleman have a bit more around them, but there are so many rad guys that started in Baltimore, or Philadelphia, etc.
  10. I just booked my lodging for the week. It's right next to Potrero del Sol, which appears to be a rad skatepark. Next up is booking an appointment with a squid.
  11. That Gator deck! I know homeboy lost his mind there, but I always loved that graphic.
  12. @cltattooing You're busy drawing and making things. I think that is the most viable of reasons. I really shouldn't make time for them myself. I should really figure out how to draw lady heads better, or at least how to perfectly execute an upside down infinity symbol.
  13. @Graeme I hope it was one of these. I miss these.
  14. I haven't. But it looks awesome. I can see how they are connected. If you play the first Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, there are a couple colossus' (colossi?) you have to take on, which is a good deal of fun.
  15. I wish they would do another one of those games. It was a lot of fun.
  16. The only time I might even remotely judge someone is when they approach me and try to compare. Sometimes I am shown things that blow me away and I'm like, shit, I need to go get tattooed by that person. Other times I feel a bit baffled that the person doesn't see the difference between some of my tattoos and theirs (not all my tattoos are great, but I learned early on enough who to seek out). So, I suppose it isn't as much judging as it is trying to understand that persons level of cognitive comparison. That said, a lot of my friends are tattooers, and I cherish the tattoos I have from them even if they aren't great (and I will probably get more). The other day when my friend Chris tattooed a small dagger on me, he also thanked me for letting him tattoo me during his first year of tattooing. He knows I've covered up one of the ones he did, but I'll forever keep the black Viking from Malone flash. It looks spotty, but it's as much a portal to his past as it is mine.
  17. Watched the episode last night. Woof. Finally. However, I fear the fate of the homey Tyrion.
  18. Me too. Massimo Vignelli is a design hero of mine (and everyone else).
  19. I just love how she used the Zapfino typeface instead of actually having someone draw something for her.
