  1. A couple of months. I went back after six weeks, and the needle just went straight through my skin. It was bizarre. After three or four more weeks, it was fine, and he was able to tattoo over it. You'll be OK. It's a pain, but your artist will sort it out, I'm sure.
  2. Yes, and I find it hard to read. It's just a bit ... blank and open. But I wouldn't rush to add anything. It needs to be someone who is expert and can do something with it.
  3. There's not much there. I think I'd leave it for a while, and maybe you can find someone great who can do something with it at a later date.
  4. All of the color fell out of one of my tattoos that got infected. It was months before he could go back to it because it wasn't fully healed. Just leave it for a while. Your artist can fix it up for you when you are fully healed.
  5. That is an abomination. I feel sorry for the person who is stuck with that forever. YIKES.

    Am I botched?

Because she'll spend the rest of her life explaining what it says. That's not fun.

    Am I botched?

Not at all. (Also, don't call it a "tattoo gun.") 😉 If you get another tattoo, think about being less literal and go more figurative. 🙂

    Am I botched?

It does look like an autograph! It looks fine. Just not very readable.

    Am I botched?

I thought it looked like an autograph. It is unreadable. Not the end of the world, however. Follow Hogrider's excellent advice. Let it heal. Then see someone—an expert—about a coverup.
  10. I don't know you can connect them, really. The subject matter is too disparate. Just get more black and grey tattoos as @SStu said.
  11. You do see the difference between the two, right? Your inspiration tattoo is much finer and more detailed. That doesn't have anything to do with the flash.
  12. As we said on the other thread, you have to let it heal. It is far too soon to be worried.
  13. As I said, if you're happy with the work, then that's all that matters.
  14. If you like your tattoos, that's all that matters.
  15. It's new. Just let it heal. Too early to tell anything. Also, don't go back to that tattoo artist.
  16. Hope it heals well. The antibiotics kicked in pretty quickly for me.
  17. I saw the doctor after a few days. Something was clearly wrong, and my artist sent me straight to the doctor. A lot of the tattoo was fine, but the main color (the contaminated blue) fell out completely, and it had to be touched up a couple of times (with a completely different color). He has never used that blue again on anyone because he lost sleep over that infected tattoo. He was SO worried.
  18. See, I don't think that is so great. But as @Hogrider said, if you like it, that's all that matters. I'd really consider symbols instead.
  19. That's how my infected tattoo looked, and I had to take antibiotics (the doctor actually gave me a big shot in the ass and pills). I'm glad you are seeing the doctor. Mine was about half the size of that. One of the inks my artist used was either contaminated, or I was allergic to something in it. It was horrible. He was terrified I was going to lose my leg (although that was never going to happen). Let us know what the doctor says.
  20. Too early to tell anything. Still healing. Looks OK.
  21. I find the liner hurts more than the shading. I get some kind of rush from it, but it is difficult to explain to people who aren't pretty heavily tattooed. I've sat for about five hours in the past. It get worse and worse as the time passes after about the third hour. Come talk to me after you've done more than 15 minutes. That's nothing. My Mom has done that, and she's in her 70s. Haha.
