    Hi!

Welcome to the forum. Remember, if there isn't a picture, it didn't happen!!!

    Hey all.

    Welcome to the forum!!!
  7. My reply at the time was that I was "retro." My only regret was in not really doing enough research to get something that could be added to fairly easily if I opted to extend down my arm. Still, I love both of my tattoos - they speak to who I am and my experiences in life. That's what is most important to me.
  8. I would very much echo the comments of @Gingerninja! Finding this community has been a tremendous way to learn and enjoy this new aspect of my life. Thanks to everyone for your guidance, advice, support and tolerance. May 2017 bring you Joy, Happiness, Health....and some awesome tattoos.
  9. Great work!!! Welcome to the forum!
  10. This was the first season I've watched so I don't have the perspective that others do. I'm also biased because Ryan is a local artist so I was happy to see her win for that reason. It did seem to me that the finale process was flawed in bringing three artists having had them all do major pieces, only to eliminate one of them based on the live work they did that day. Still, I enjoyed the season since, as a newcomer to tattooing, it gave me a chance to learn a lot about the craft by listening to the judging process. Oh, so I guess you don't want to see a picture of my personalized/signed coaster that Ryan did for me?
  11. @Gingerninja Charlie was my heart dog. We adopted him when he was 2 from a family with 3 young boys who wanted a puppy but didn't want the dog after he grew up. He came to us with a rash of misbehaviors but was the most loving and mild mannered dog ever. He rapidly earned his nickname, the Big Brown Butthead (you can see it on his name tag in the picture). You could always count on Charlie to run through the living room with one of Lynn's bras hanging from his mouth in the middle of a crowded party. We were able to retrain him and cured almost all of his behavioral issues...except he would bolt and run away in a heartbeat so we always had to keep him on leash. Our other dogs are always trained to stay with us so they are never on leash unless we are taking them off our property. It will be 2 years ago in March that we lost him to cancer - I still miss him every day.
  12. Our first Lab, Daisy. She loved the toys at Christmas...but not the antlers. Our second Lab, Charlie wasn't a big fan either. And one of our current Labs, Duffy. The pictures of Charlie and Duffy were taken at the same time. A little while after we took the photos, we went out for a few hours. When we came back, Charlie and Duffy grabbed the antlers and Santa ears from a countertop and destroyed them. They made sure we understood they were not amused.
  13. @briankelly Nice art!!! I like the way you've kept true to the boldness of the traditional and updated the images a bit. Sweet.
  14. Welcome to the forum!! Your first tattoo is a gorgeous one!! Congratulations!!!!!!
  15. I think you are over-generalizing the perceptions of people in academia. I am a college president - got my first two tattoos within this past year. I have a great number of staff and faculty who sport tattoos, some visible and some covered. I've not seen any negative reaction to either males of females who have tattoos around my college. Granted, there can be an elitist snobbery at work in some institutions, especially among older members of the community who were raised when tattoos were not as prevalent or accepted, but that seems to be dwindling rapidly as the more junior members of the faculty, staff and administration are promoted into the ranks. For me, I use my decision to get tattooed as a way to encourage acceptance and tolerance of diversity in all forms. Surprising that the more liberal community that demands inclusiveness tends to be at the heart of discrimination and intolerance of people with ink, no?
  16. Welcome to the forum. Lots of great people and advice to be had here! Both of mine are in places where they can be covered by short sleeves so I haven't had the same experience. I do have many people who work for me who have visible tattoos...and it has had no impact on how they are perceived at work. Hopefully, your experiences will be the same. As you get more confident, you can always test the waters with friends and trusted colleagues and then expand your "circle" beyond them.
  17. Good advice here aready so I will just say, welcome!
  18. Welcome, Miranda! You are much more experienced than I am - but it seems that the majority or your scabbing is where green ink was applied. It could just be your skin's reaction to that specific color of ink. My last tattoo had some scabbing - my first didn't - and I followed the exact same routine for aftercare as I did the first so it's probably not anything you've done. Just follow your routine...and leave those scabs alone!!! I bet it will look great when it's healed.
  19. Eagles and wolves!! That pretty much ends my participation for now.
  20. This was taken at a local Chamber of Commerce awards gala last week. I'm Chairman of the Board - 6 months left of my two year stint.
  21. The Report Post function is not present for me, either.
