  1. "Heated" discussions? Okay...anyhow, welcome to LST, I hope you take the time to enjoy all the interviews and galleries-that should give you PLENTY to discuss!!
  2. I pretty nuch share that feeling. A lot of Den's stuff seems to have to have the outline blended into the actual picture, and some of it has traditional outlining. Any way you look at it, the guys got an amazing talent.

    Hiiiii

For two weeks out it looks pretty good. And so does the tattoo. Seriously, Everyone's body deals with tattoo's differently, so I wouldn't get too worried. Especially since you didn't use any gray wash! I've had work that was about completely healed in two weeks, and work that took over a month to completely heal. I'd suggest varying the type/amount of lotion you are using on it, if any. I had some problems healing a large piece on my ribs, and I think it was mostly due to some spots retaining the lotion, while others were rubbed dry. The one I'm healing now I am leaving completely dry...see what happens.
  4. Uh, Slayer...hate to tell ya this bro, but it's a big oogly dragon about to munch on yer dome there!
  5. The SLAYHAMMER! I like it.
  6. Tigers n Panthers n Lions...oh my. All three by Den Yakovlev.
  7. Well shit! Glad to see real class hasn't gone outta style!
  8. STELLA!!!! I know, I know...too young to get the reference...lucky girl! - - - Updated - - - Here is a link toi Den Yakovlev's Tumblr feed. I think he is probably the most hyper-realistic tattooist working today. Just my opinion. Anyhow, he works out of Moscow, so it would be a bit of a trip, but I know he travels to do shows and guest spots...you might try contacting him and seeing if/were he will be if you like his work. There is more of it on his FB page. http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/den-yakovlev
  9. Thanks man...I know 'ZACTLY what you mean! Right now I'm going back n forth with my cousin-in-law in Moscow to see if there is any way I can figure to get a piece from Den Yakovlev...guys stuff is just too trip. - - - Updated - - - I've also found that with ribwork especially, a 7.5 Vicodin washed down with 5mg of Valium is really not even horrible...
  10. An animal portrait by Den Yakovlev - - - Updated - - - And a human picture...
  11. Whoa...that's cold! Two days and no one says hi. Anyhow, I know you've been posting, so you already know what's happening here, but just to make sure your welcome doesn't get shined, welcome to LST, glad to have you here!
  12. Sorry Heathenist...works for me, but... Anyhow, it's Den Yakovlev. Tattoos in Moscow, and his work is unbelievable. Here's a little thumbnail of a dog portrait he did...here's a link to a bunch more. http://www.tattooartproject.com/tattoo-artists/den-yakovlev/
  13. Portraits...take a look here. I don't know whether Den ever travels to Oz, but I know he moves around Europe regularly, so there's always the chance! If nothing else, you can see what a master of the portrait can do. http://www.facebook.com/?sk=welcome#!/media/set/?set=a.211477935556591.49544.100000831588077&type=3
  14. Just messin' witcha, Homes...I'm pushing 60 pretty hard myself.
  15. Welcome to LST, Mr. & Mrs. Peace, sounds like you can make a huge addition to the history here, thanks so much for joining!
  16. They just didn't say WHAT they washed with it.
  17. Got my piece from Nick last night, great stuff! Flash drawn by Tom Berg sometime in the thirties...but ya gotta go to the contest section to see it. While we were there, my Lady couldn't resist a lil more Sailor Jerry flash, and Nick was kind enough to fit it in-between my work and his next appointment.
  18. @Kev, I think that's 'crat-speak for "the manufacturers used the water to dilute the ink". A script for ginseng???? You need to move, Carnal!
  19. @kylegrey, I THINK the wings are on the Lady...went back and forth about that, but looking at it as a whole, they seem too far back to be on the dragon, and the dragon seems too eastern for wings. But watdafuk do I know, it's just a neat old piece, and I'm happy with it!
  20. Yeah, can't really put my finger on what it is, but it just looks total old-skool to me. While I was there, a young Lady was waiting to be tattooed by Nick, had an appointment an all that. Said she was from San Diego? Anyhow, that was where she ahd heard about Nick, so I guess people are getting hip to him...bout time!
  21. Another piece by @Nick Colella of CTC, one-day notice to get it. Far as he can figure, Tom Berg did the flash in the thirties, and it's been on the wall fo the shop for some decades... First step in filling in the rest of my left arm, and it should work. I have some very old western-style stuff like a panthers head on that arm, as well as some fairly old (1982-1984) Jap style work, so we have to kinda get a blending going on. Thought this piece did that well. There will be one more fairly major piece, and then fill. Pix aren't the best, but you get the idea....I know this isn't the most rad and popluar styling, but hey, old flash for an old guy! Background of the shop is kinda kool, too.
  22. he FDA article...doesn't name names, but it shood narrow it down enough for people in the industry to figure it out. Tattoo Inks Pose Health Risks
  23. HIS left? A man on horseback.
  24. What's up, RT17? Welcome to LST!
