Went into CTC last night to get my friend's daughter a new tattoo, Nick gave her a beautifully-done Phụng! And since I'm a well-known ink-whore who just couldn't drive all that way and come home bare-skinned, he drew me up a lil filler...pardon the lousy cellphone shot.

Car scratches can be pretty rough!!!

Armpits suck. Truly.

@O.E.D & @B.V., thanks, but I didn't say it, I'm just quoting one of those old dead White guys! Jefferson never expected the Republic to last longer than 13 years, according to his papers, and we've had a longer run than that. Thing is, the heat on the stove has been turned-up to the point where some of the more sensitive frogs are starting to jump out of the pan...that's why you'll be seeing more and more stories about people-families included-being blown away or burned alive by the ATF, FBI, and all the other Alphabet-Troopers of the ruling elite. Anyone that doubts that need only look at t6he history of the last 20 years or so. If you're really interested, fly me a kite, I'll be happy to give you source material to read. Ben Franklin, on being asked what type of government the Continental Congress had given the United States replied "A Repubulic...if you can keep it." We haven't. It's gone. But there is still time to get it back, we just have to decide if we want to be Americans or tame-ass subjects who are content to do as we are told. .02

Wondered if I was the only dinosaur! - - - Updated - - - Actually, I hate both of them, but it makes no difference who wins or loses, the real power isn't in the President, and the partei's are just two sides of the same coin. The ONLY way to get this Nation back to it's original state of being by the people, for the people, is to topple the two-partei system and replace the corrupt federal oligarchy with the Constitutional Republic that was founded and intended by our forefather. Abortion, immigration, hoplophobia, race, these are all just social-constructs used by the Mandarin class to keep the serfs divided and occupied. "And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Thomas Jefferson, writing to William Stevens Smith in 1787. And just as true today.

Politrix are okay to discuss, as long as everyone realizes that there are as many shades of opinion as there are shades of assh...er, color. Obama is Obama. He is a Chicago politician, regardless of race. That, by definition, makes him a lying, cheating, backstabbing scumbag. Romney, being a professional politician, isn't much better. To me, our choice is Obama or Obama-Lite. The only solution is another revolution.

I wonder how many of the truly bad tattoos ou tthere are first tattoos. I know so many people who have not-so-good work that was done at a "tattoo-party" that someone hosted, either at a house or a motel, or that was done by a friend-of-a-friend who kinda knows how, or like that. Seems to me that once you've gotten one lousy one, unless you're completely oblivious, you have to see how it looks compared to decent work.

@Graeme, I hear that! Took a look in my area on Craigslist, found one truly, um, not very excellent place not too far away, advertising "any portrait for $200". Outstanding. Also found an ad closer to Chicago looking for an apprentice...fee to be discussed at the interview. Ah well...they are out there.
-
@Graeme, did you say "affordable, professional MUTILATIONS" from her home?!?!?!?!?!?!
-
Welcome to LST, Rachael! Glad you found your way here, and I hope you enjoy yourself. Now, let's see these othere nine!

Well thanks! Actually, I never got along with school, and there are a few who would argify the "gentleman" part!

Canyon Lake Road or sumpin like that, right? Was in that neck o the woods awhile many, many many moons ago...wrecked my first hog, a '47 Knuckle, on the curve where 101 jinks into 1 out by Salinas. Proly all turned into interstates now. We were on our way from el-Lay to what we called "Frisco", which I hear isn't the correct way to refer to it anymore! Had to look up who Jack Passion is...his father, eh?! All I can tell you, late sixties through the seventies, it was a time. Wouldn't trade my life for anything. Rode from one end of the country to the other, more than a few times, partied with many, fought with some, and just generally had a helluva time.

Mechong = 'merican. In Viet, "My" is an American, a White is a "da Trang", so a White American in "My da Trang". Numbuh ten talk all time hahd unnastan.

@Scott R, don't get me wrong, the street is the ONLY place to eat! Thing is, ya gotta watch the stalls ya eat from. I'm in Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (Bangkok) pretty regularly, and I dount I spend $2 a day on food. Most of the street-vendors are clean, but some of them, especially in the tourist areas, just swish the bowls around in klong water...not good. Best place to see the craziness and kick back with a good bowl of pho is just off the corner of Sukumvhit and Nana Soi...go there around 2 or 3 in the morning and you can see every variation of human ever made-it's a trip. The people are almost always friendly, the pho is great, and you just can't beat the atmosphere. But stay off Nana Soi itself, less watching the sick-ass sex-tourists is your thing.

I was lucky, I got the mefloquine, but it was a m.f. on you when you took it regularly. I love S.E. Asia, wold like to retire to Laos, but you really have to be on your toes when you are in-country.

Wouldn't sweat the Buddha...most Cambodes are Buddhists, and the days of Pol Pot are long gone. You might want to go for the long sleeves in any temple just to be respectful. Since they are back to being a Kingdom, things are much mellower for outsiders. Guess I'd worry more about what I ate and drank, and if I was looking for companionship, I'd worry about that too! AIDS rate is like .5% of the population, which is pretty bad for a country that small, and it only considers adults. There are about 63K people with HIV/AIDS in-country. A more likely risk is Hep or malaria. I can tell you for sure that the anti-malarials don't always work, so take them like religion!!! Still get the shakes and it's been 40 years since I was bitten. Usual stuff, if you eat off the street, make damn sure you see the stuff get cooked through, and the dishes washed with boiling water. Brush your teeth with bottled water, even if the hotel says their water is "safe". That kind of thing. Beware of salads...worst offenders there are. And that's just the Hep A & B. I'm sure there must be some good, clean parlors in Phnom Penh, but I sure as hell wouldn't chance it! Overall, Cambodia has one of the highest incidents of disease in S.E. Asia, but hey, ya gotta die of something!!!!!
