Good, sharp cutthroat is the best-cuts the hair off straight and clean..but you don't often find 'em being used in a shop! I might hafta check that Coochie stuff myself-I get hellacious ingrowns, especially if I get too liberal with the lotion.

I'll get some pix of it up, gimme a few days. It's a beautiful piece, it's rough-I pulled it out a barn, but it's all there, even the headrest-with truly old barber chairs that's always an issue. I paid four bills for just the headrest for my bud's chair, had to be period correct, all that rale-dazzle. I'd like to start talking at a grand, but hey-everything is a negotiation, right?!

The New Year in New York City meetup
Dan S replied to slayer9019's topic in LST Get Togethers & Tattoo Conventions
Wish I could make it to Nueve York for this, but it doesn't look like it's happening right now..ah well, another time. -
@David Flores, will be @ CTC the 4th & 11th for work on my ribs and #4 son's first tattoo...if ya happen to be in the vicinity then, stop on by.

Johannes, I ship to Deutschland every month or so, it really isn't as bad as it used to was!

Thanks much. My kids are a trip, all of them. They can ride, shoot, wrench, fight...read, write, make a living, all that good stuff, AND they appreciate good tattooing! Tell ya what, I hate to say it out loud, but I'm proud as hell of all my kids, and love them more than I can say.

Thanks, man...I saw that you popped it offa Tumblr but don't have an account so I couldn't comment on it. It's a trip that they want to get a chunk of work I have, they plotting about how to slice up my sleeve and get pieces of it. Best part is that #4 son turns 18 in two weeks, and he's already got his appointment set-up!

@David Spry, these intro posts sometimes get buried. If a group of peoplle sign-up clsoe together, or if they just post their intro's close together, then it's easy to miss one. I try to go through and make sure everyone gets an answer, and I know the mods do as well. I'm figuring that's all it was, lotsa first posts. Anyhow, I see you're posting away, so you must be getting sumpin good here!

So I'm a glutton for punishment. la Senorita y el Tigre got lonesome, so I'm getting the right side of my ribcage done. Nick Colella, next Friday. Should be fun.

Not my taste in tattooing, but at least the man got some with some real meaning to him, not just cultural garbage, and the ones he has do seem well-done. Hate to make generalizations, but Blacks seem to have as many scratcher parlors dedicated to putting "Thug Life" on bellies as Whites have scratcher parlors dedicated to putting tramp-stamps on backs. At least in Chicago you can see them on about every street in the 'hood, and the ones I've been into are stone nasty.

Dirty Sanchez, eh?! Ah well..welcome to LST, hope you find the knowledge you seek!

Good ol' Fuzi...one tattoo done twenty different ways, each of them scuking harder than the last. His tattoos suck, his graf sucks harder, his "fine art" is a Hoover, and his posing is world-class.

@Graeme, @MadeIndelible, I have been lucky enough to have gotten all of my work done at CTC, mostly cause it was the only game in town when I was a shorty. Fortunately, my sons have pretty much shined-on the local scratch-n-gouge parlors and made a point of going there as well. Nick has gone out of his way to accomodate our schedules-it's a 90 mile drive-and to make sure everything about the experience is good. We typically get tattoos as a family thing, the next biggie will be my youngest son's 18th this coming month...he has his appointment booked and a design drawn-up!

So, maybe 1977? Around there..I got a parrot done by Dale Grande at Chicago Tattoo. It was partially a cover-up, partially just sumpin I thought was kool. My kids always dug it, and hey-see if you can figure out which is which. Untitled, So if your dad gets this rad tattoo in the late... Done by Nick Colella @ CTC this afternoon on a coupla my boys.

"Hep Kat's DermoVision" No, I wouldn't be going there!

Most of his work is pretty good. He spent ten years inside, and went in as a member of a "social club" that had high standing. That gave him access to the best tattooers in there, and he got some wild stuff. Hopefully, I will be able to find some of it that I can post...lots of the pics I have, I wouldn't post here because of the representing.

Anything to make ya happy, Brock! Actually, my boy is covered in jailhouse, literally from head to foot. I'd love to get shots of all of it, but time and place just hasn't worked out.
-
Whoa...no, sorry! One a my buds has a smiley-face on the head of his joint, that he did IN the joint...keep meaning to take some pix of his work, but he's heading back inside, so doubt I'll be able to.

A coffee cup. Some pastry. A new shank. An old Altemus Edition of Dante's Inferno, illustrated by Dore, from around 1890 or so.

Thanks...first design from the Black Cat Firecracker Company.

My work? There's pix of most, if not all of it on my profile or posts..
-
I've heard that one before!!!
-
ME TOO!!! Course, that would mean I was missing an arm, or a leg, or a chunk of my chest, or ribcage, or...
-
Nope, never happened. Not with stuff I put on myself, not on stuff I've gotten since then. Always enjoyed planning it, having it done, watching it heal.
