How do you feel about tattoo blogs?

Act in haste, repent in leisure. Too bad she didn't spend as much time researching this scratcher as she is spending outing him. I hope he winds up in jail. She's already gotten her punishment.

If you don't go to hell for having tattoos, you are going for saying that :-)

I'm working on my Master's Degree in theology at an ecumenical institute that doesn't lean toward any particular Christian Religion. When you say most accurate, that opens a can of worms. Most accurate as in close to the original words, or the original meaning? Some words don't mean the same thing when you consider the context and time they were written in. They will not let us reference the King James version for class work and the preferred version of the bible is the New Revised Standard Version. I'm currently working on my Thesis and I can tell you that it's no wonder religions are so fucked up. You have a bunch of ignorant imbeciles who have never actually studied the bible reading a 400 year old translation of a translation and treating it like a text book that is to be followed literally. As one of my professors liked to point out; in John 10:9 Jesus says, "I am the door; if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture." Do they think Jesus has a door knob in his belly? After all, he said he is the door.

Very slick. He debunks the usual arguments to make you feel like he is on your side, then brings up a bunch of new arguments, almost in an apologetic manner. He comes across as a folksy, good old boy, but this has a very calculated approach.

Heavily tattooed = someone with more tattoos that you have. :-)

I finally admitted to myself that I'm probably not going to stop any time soon. First I was just going to get a tattoo, then just a sleeve, then just a sleeve and a chest panel. Now I'm deciding between another sleeve or a big back/side piece. Just deciding which will be first. I'll stop when I stop.

Stewart, what a great explanation! As usual I'm over thinking it. I've purchased some books and I guess I'll go with what I like and let my tattooer guide me. It's not so much that I'm trying to build a narrative using images, I just want to know what I'm putting on my skin. Dan - thanks for the links.

I was raised catholic too. When I actually read the bible I don't know if I was more surprised by what WAS in the bible or what WASN'T in the bible.

I'm so disgusted and ashamed :-( Well, since I'm already damaged goods, I guess I'll just go get another tattoo!! That article proves the Mark Twain saying, "The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits."

I've done a search on the net and on here but can't find what I'm looking for. Does anyone know a source to explain the symbolism behind Japanese tattoos? I'm not talking about high level Koi means this, Dragon means this; I'm talking about a really detailed explanation such as an explanation of what the symbolism behind a Samurai holding a scroll in his mouth is, or what it means for a Samurai to be shown killing a Koi fish. I'm thinking about ideas for my next big piece and don't just want to put some random symbols on myself, or if I do, I want to do it by choice, not by ignorance. Thanks.

I'm finally finishing my sleeve and chest panel on February 1 (Dragon Koi Sleeve, Hannya mask chest panel). I started it almost one year ago to the day. I called to set an appointment to start my next piece. The first all-day appointment he had was March 22. I'm kind of bummed I can't start my next piece until then, but I'm going in this week to talk about what is next. We're going to kick around ideas, but at this point I'm undecided about doing the next sleeve and chest panel, or something really big on one side of my back and ribs.

I thought that was Joe Capobianco.

We need a list of Peckisms. We can say that the contestant has been Peckered! "Man, that hand looks like it got caught in a garbage disposal!"

Yea, that will stand the test of time ... NOT.

That may be the worst interview I've ever read. That was like reading an interview with a block of wood. Short, one sentence answers.

I still laugh when I think about that line, "You - do - not - go - to - the - second - grade - if - you - can - not - pass - the - first - grade."

I've never had the blues or regretted what I did, but when my sleeve was outlined it took several weeks to get used to it. I kept thinking, "What the fuck have I done??" But not in a bad way, I just couldn't believe that I did it. I've only been working on my tattoos for a year so I suppose I'll get used to them eventually, but I rarely look in the mirror and don't notice them. I tried to explain this feeling to a few non-tattood people, but they just kept thinking that I regretted getting them. No way, I'm planning my next sleeve and chest panel!

Anyone going to the DC convention? Exposed Tattoo and Baller, Inc. Present the DC Tattoo Expo No. 3 Any recommendations of who to check out there? Thanks.

Ink Masters is certainly no worse than the impressions made by Miami Ink, LA Ink or the worst of the worst - New York Ink.

AND get more tattoos! A single tattoo is lonely - unless it's a full sleeve.

I like the design but the placement looks really awkward if it is your only tattoo. If you have other work, it might look good.

When she saw what he had drawn she should have told him she left something in the car and would be right back ... not! In the end, in most cases we are all responsible for what goes on our skin. If someone wants to do something that we feel we can't live with we should get up and walk. I'd rather have a half-done tattoo than a half-ass tattoo. The less done, the easier the coverup.

I don't think anyone won this year. I can't believe that knucklehead Sebastian put that trash on the woman's back who was worried about the tattoo being too masculine. I see a potential lazer removal client there. Sarah's was OK, but nothing special and Steve's was OK, but I wouldn't want it on my back. All in all a pretty disappointing season, mostly for the "human canvases." They had absolutely no excuses with 24 hours to work and total control over what they did. Last year's three finalists did some awesome tattoos, at least from this layman's prospective.
