  1. I've been doing less and less aftercare as I get more experienced and figure out what works for me. These days, I soak in a hot tub right after the tattoo and again the next day and keep it clean and wrapped for two or three days. Then it's a little cocoa butter for another three or four days and I'm good to go. Since I started doing the hot bath, my tattoos haven't actually healed any faster, that I can tell anyway, but are much less painful. I've always been a fast healer.
  2. Even if they are perfect when the tattoo goes on, they don't stay that way.
  3. You can't fix blowouts. As @Gingerninja said, tattoos are not perfect. You skin isn't a piece of paper where you can go back and erase and start over, regardless of what people that do laser remove would like you to believe. It's a nice tattoo, enjoy it.
  4. I wouldn't try to 'fix' something that small. There is a better chance of making it worse than better. I wouldn't go back to that artist either.
  5. How many people need to say it's normal before you start believing them? As other have said, let it heal. Besides, you can't do ANYTHING about a blowout, so there is no point in worrying about it at this point.
  6. As @Gingerninja and @SStu said, you need to get someone who just kills text or it's going to look like crap. Unless you are getting that image you showed on your back, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Even then, that's a lot of fine detail going on. I doubt that would look good wrapped around your arm and should and down to the elbow. I recommend doing a lot more research. You can google tattoo image text to see what other people are doing. Not to rain on your parade, but this project just has disappointment written all over it. I would make sure your artist has something for you to look at before you start, this isn't something you can wing and freehand at the last minute. Good luck.
  7. Yup, I've been new to lots of things. I don't keep asking the same question because I'm not getting the answer I want. If you think that tattoo is scarred, blown out, or messed up, you have NOT done your homework. ;-) Here's what you got from you're first thread - For what it is, it looks fine to me. - looks lovely; - it's looks great the way it is ! - I don't see anything wrong with that tattoo at all. - Nothing wrong with the execution of that tattoo. - It's a cute first tattoo! Despite this feedback, you then start another thread, "will this eventually heal okay?" IT'S HEALING FINE! You're getting lots of good feedback, you just aren't listening. It sounds like what you want to hear is that it's a mess and that you need to get it fixed. Have a good life, tattoos just aren't for you.
  8. You are obsessing over this tattoo. Both threads, you're worried about something being wrong with it, despite everyone saying it's fine. Regarding scarring, you obviously have no idea what scarring is or you wouldn't ask about this tattoo. Tattoos aren't meant to be looked at from 1 inch away. If you take a magnifying glass to ANY tattoo you'll find something wrong with it. If I put this tattoo on someone and they publicly posted that it "looked messed up", I'd never tattoo them again. I don't mean to come across as too harsh, but people should do their homework BEFORE getting tattooed.
  9. That's really rude to do that to someone. To do it twice is just gauche. I'd tell her to knock it off. As @scottyg said, if someone has a enough of tattoos and you look hard enough, you'll find something phallic.
  10. Just curious, do you think you are going to get different answers than from your other threads on this same tattoo?
  11. IMHO,If you’re hiding your sleeves from your parents, you aren’t ready for hand tattoos. It’s a huge step that will be with you for the rest of your life.
  12. @Gingerninja nailed it. It’s not going to look like your examples and you won’t get a quality job done for less than ten grand, most likely much more. Any money saved on the artist will be spent later on laser removal.
  13. It doesn't look like the artist went too deep to me. It's still peeling. As everyone has said, you won't know anything until it's done healing. There is nothing you can do at this point. Take @SStu advice and don't look at it for a month. I had a purple in that took forever to settle in. It didn't look completely normal for about a year. Here's what I did - NOTHING.
  14. Google this idea and do your research. I remember reading about one guy that had his penis tattooed and wound up with permanent nerve damage. Some other guy got a dragon done on it and I don't think he had any problem. If you've never had a tattoo, you have NO IDEA how painful that would be. Even getting tattooed AROUND that area is painful.
  15. I don't know what bio oil is, I just use a little cocoa butter after it starts to peel. That doesn't look overworked to me at all. Relax and start enjoying it.
  16. If you want perfection, don't get tattoos. NO tattoo is perfect. It's not a drawing on a piece of paper. OF COURSE it distorts when you bend your arm, your skin is not fixed, it moves and stretches. I don't see anything wrong with that tattoo at all. Take a deep breath and live with it for a few months.
  17. All tattoos don't heal the same, even in the same area. I had a tattoo on my ribs where one session didn't flake or peel at all. Give it another month before you start to worry. The bottom line is that one month into the healing process you probably can't do anything to help or hurt it.

    Thanks

It takes 4 - 6 weeks to fully heal. You won't know what it's going to look like until then. It may take longer for your mother to get over it.
  19. Go see a doctor. This isn't normal, but there is no way of knowing what is causing it.
  20. It doesn't matter what it looks like now. ;-)
  21. Advice on what to do - nothing. Until it heals you don't know what it's going to look like and until you know what it's going to look like, you can't make an informed decision on what to do, if anything. I don't see anything wrong with it from the pics, but again, it's too early to tell.
  22. If you look at the scientific literature, documented allergic reactions to tattoo ink are EXTREMELY rare. Have you been to a dermatologist? That sounds like an infection.
  23. Not what you wanted, but at least it's a GOOD tattoo. I agree with what the other's have posted. You can't have too many dragons.
