  1. No, you can't fix bad line work. All you can do is make sure you don't make the same mistake twice. I wouldn't worry about that tattoo. I've seen many, many more that are far worse. Just look at it at a high level, don't look at every detail. I say this at least once a week - you start fooling with a tattoo like that, you're far more likely to make it worse than to make it better.
  2. I wouldn't throw anything else in there. That's already very busy.
  3. How exactly does it brighten and protect tattoos? Sounds like marketing bullschitt to me. No need for special lotions and potents.
  4. Comparing the ribs to the calf is like comparing getting beaten by a professional boxer to getting a massage from a porn star. And to OP - don't use numbing cream - earn your tattoo; respect tradition.
  5. Don’t be a puss, get the tattoo.
  6. No, it's not normal. I don't think there is anything you can do about it. Have you talked to your artist?
  7. No one will notice, no one will care but you. I say it at least once a week, if you start monkeying with the tattoo the chances are you'll make it worse, not better.
  8. Infection is red, swollen, oozing, smells bad. You're probably just using too much ointment. The goal is to keep it from drying, not to let it go for a swim.
  9. Impatience is a recipe for disaster. I’ve seen more schitty tattoos and coverups than I can count because someone couldn’t wait to get it done right. They usually go from bad to worse to disastrous and then expect someone to make it look like new.
  10. What part monkeying with it will make it worse is confusing you? Educate yourself on laser removal. There is no guarantee, or expectation, that the entire tattoo will fade at the exact same rate. You will find someone that will claim they can do what you want, even though they can’t, and then you’ll be back here asking how to fix the mess you caused. Quit obsessing over this and just enjoy your nice tattoo.
  11. I stopped looking at my back in the mirror!! 🙂
  12. Calm down! A tattoo doesn't heal for 4-6 weeks. Until it's healed you won't know what it's going to look like. Even after that it will fade over time. Don't even think about lasering that. I guarantee that if you start monkeying with that it will look worse, not better. You've got a nice tattoo, enjoy it.
  13. It takes 4 to 6 weeks to heal. You won't know anything until then. Period. There's no way to hurry the healing process. Just relax until then, there's nothing you can to anyway.
  14. I'm sure they wiped the needle off on their pants before moving on to the next lucky recipient! You can't get cleaner than that!
  15. The only way to fix wavy lines is to make them thicker. Then you have to make ALL the lines thicker so they match. You’re more likely to end up with a mess than a fix. next time just find someone that can do it right the first time. People think that anyone can do simple things like this. It’s actually HARDER to do simple things like this because if they aren’t perfect, it’s easy to tell.
  16. Keep looking and next time book mark it. 😉
  17. Small detailed tattoos on thin delicate skin are the most prone to blowouts. I don’t think there is anything you can do to cause or prevent them.
  18. Maybe you should ask the scratcher that did that to you ... in a very visible spot. If it's hot and oozing, then it's infected. I'd put antibiotic ointment on it and keep it covered.
  19. Get a new tattoo with the new names. You commemorated a point in time.
  20. Simple tattoos are the hardest because there is no place to hide. Leave it alone, no one will notice.

Shame on your artist for not going over the healing process with you. The flakes are DEAD skin. DEAD. DEAD. They aren't coming back and they are of no use to you. Just put the smallest possible amount of lotion possible on and the DEAD skin is going to flake off.

First, tattoos itch while they heal. Second of all, quit drowning it. You're using way too much lotion, I can see that from the pic. The goal of the lotion is so that it doesn't dry out, it's not to cover it with a protective coat. Last, it takes 4 -6 weeks to heal so just don't look at it until then.
