My girlfriend has always loved my tattoos, so I never encountered any kind of problem. But I think if someone really loves you, they wouldn't care if you did or didn't have any. And if they don't like them to begin with, then they'll just need to get used to them if they want to stay with you!

Personally, I really like how it looks now. I think if you add too much in there it may be hard to tell what it is or what is going on. It's a great, big design that's easy to read, so I think the simpler, the better!

I just have a simple swallow that represents my mom on my chest. I really do like the american traditional style tattoos that say "mom" on them, but I also think it's very nice when there is something like a flower, bird, etc. that represents them. Sometimes, the simpler the better. Just something to think about!

Maybe try telling someone who she's close with who will also like your tattoos. That way, once your mom finds out, they can maybe calm her down a little or talk some sense into her. That's what I did and it seemed to work. Eventually, they just get used to it because ultimately, you are her daughter and she will accept you!

I've always gotten a lot of "ooooh let me touch it!" RIGHT after I got one done......um, no thank you.

Hi, everyone! I am a younger tattoo enthusiast with a primary interest in black and gray work. I have several pieces on me right now (both black and gray and color), and even though I say I'm done getting new ink, I always find myself back in the shop. I thought this forum would be a great place to refer to when looking for suggestions from people with the same interest as me.
