Got this one yesterday for Friday the 13th. I've always loved the number 13, and I thought it was a bit of fun.

@JBluewind Are these tattoos you've seen in real life or in pictures on the Internet?  I did a google image search on "ear tattoos" and nothing that came up is what I would consider good tattooing.  From what I've seen in real life, if you're going to tattoo the inside of the ear you're best sticking with bold and heavy blackwork/tribal.  And if you're going to do that you have to be pretty much fully covered unless you want to look completely ridiculous.  All those delicate flowers and other complicated and intricate designs are not going to hold up to the kind of sun exposure that your ears will get.  Don't get me started on how many obvious photoshop jobs show up when you do that search either.

if you want something to memorialize somebody who you loved and who meant a lot to you, you owe it to her memory to get something nice that is going to last a lifetime.

    Do your ears hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?

    Totally agree with @ChrisvK...
If you're looking for a "unique look" the map with pins on it might not serve you in the long run...why not just set one of those up on your wall? Or get one travel themed tattoo as a stand-alone? As an ongoing tattoo, I think locking yourself into this idea limits a lot of really cool opportunities.
Lots of members here have traveled and gotten tattoos (myself included). You'll remember where you got 'em without displaying it on a map.

    Welcome to the forum!
Regarding your question: Why don't you just get a sick tattoo from a great local artist in places you visit?
That way you can make you're own "world map" without having to cram a lot of tiny pins and airplanes on a worldmap outline. The way you described your tattoo it will only look uncluttered and stand the test of time if you dedicate a large portion of your back to it. Lets be honest, a rock of ages or battle royal would look so much better on your back ;)
Also tattooing over an already existing tattoo can be done, but do it too often and scar tissue will form on those spots
    just my 0.02

Sorry it's been a while since I've been here. Looking at other people's tattoos makes me want more, and my wallet can't afford it.
I recently changed jobs, and to celebrate I got this. This was done by the same tattooer that did my other pieces (Papa Joe in Boise, ID). My back is nearly complete. This is a pic of the fresh tattoo.

Haven't posted any recent tattoos, so here it goes. The Pumpkin is obviously from last halloween. The eagle is from last december. It's hard to take a good picture of it since it wraps around my upper arm. The halloween painstain was done by Jeroen Gardenier at The Blue Blood studio in Amsterdam. The eagle and lady head are both done by Jan Willem (@janwillemtattoo on IG) in his private studio. The lady head is 2,5 years old. Edit: Pictures are massive, sorry about that one

I'm not 100% sure but I think the ink goes deeper then the bruise so healing wise there shouldnt be any problems. Just expect a shit ton of pain. Would be interesting to see if anyone has any experience with this

Really the big things and the small things in this thread, that's what I like about it. Positivity vibes!
Last week I visited a long time friend in her new home city for the first time, after she'd allready lived there for four years. That was nice in and of itself. She told me that she just learned to really believe in compliments that people give her, and for the first time got those warm feelings that an honest compliment can give. I could relate a whole lot and realized I too changed in this aspect over the past years. We talked about that and coincidently I got four really nice compliments by other people just around that week.
By my friends kid: - Mommy is good! And you are good too!
By my friends friend: - You're great at hanging out with kids
By random girl getting off the train, where I was drawing in my notebook: - I just have to say: that looks really nice!
By a person I am seeing: - You are really very fine in bed
Each compliment of course boosted my all ready alarming illusions of grandeur to new hights in their own way ;)
