Well I have always just crossed germany by car, so this time I plan on taking my time exploring the neighboring country. After that I plan on going to Austria, Swiss and maybe Italy. Then see if I can go back north via the other side of Germany and stopping by in Berlin and chill there for a bit, and then hit up some mates I met last year while i was in Sweden in the summer. They invited me to go roadtripping with them through scandinavia. If I haven't got tired of living out of a backpack by then Ill probably cross the pond to meet up with some people i met in hostels who live in the UK. Then I'll probably return home, repack, get a new passport since mine expires in a year or so. I will either settle down in normal life again, or go crazy hitchhiking and see if i can reach Asia, but that is all many nights away from now ;). Just orderd my bivy, it arrives in 6 days and then I will take it for a test in the Dunes, about 10km away from my hometown. I'll be taking pictures and write an article on my blog about that when done. Thanks again for all the support and interest you guys show! You're amazing people and if any of you happen to live near the roads I will follow, by all means give me a shout and we can go for a beer or something

I'm aiming to start my hitchhiking adventure the 15th of march! the date is coming closer and closer and I'm beyond excited to turn my daydreams in a reality! I started a blog today with a little introduction post. On this blog I'll be posting all my stories from the road, as well as pictures. Life of a drifter in Europe Feel free to check it out!

Awesome man! go for it! keep us posted how it works out for you. Love it when people follow their dreams

Outlaw biker gang sounds like fun. If only I had a bike. Or a license to ride one for that matter. In all seriousness I will be spamming you with pictures and stories from my adventures as much as I can. I love this place so I won't want you guys to miss out on my travels

Ahw thanks man! Yeah I'm doing exactly that for I don't know how long. I was getting depressed in the whole college>work>sleep>repeat thing so I gave it all the middlefinger. What I would do when I return? No clue. Where I get the money to have a roof above my head? I don't even care anymore. I'm gonna take all that i can fit in one backpack and just live life. It is scary as fuck to do so but I can't imagine doing anything else in this point of my life. Thanks for all the encouragement! it means allot to have some support since most people (family and friends) aren't supportive of this decision at all, they rather see me working 9-17:00 doing something I don't like doing so I can maintain a lifestyle that I don't want to live.

Ofcourse I'll keep all of you posted! I'm bringing a camera and my laptop with me. Everytime i find a place with WiFi I'll update a blog (haven't created it yet but I will post the link here as soon as I got one) I't won't be a tattoo trip for 2 reasons. Reason 1: Money, I simply don't have much money and I will need it for food. Reason 2: Most of the times I'll be sleeping outdoors in my bivy in a forest or under a bridge to save me some money and that isn't really the ideal place to heal a fresh tattoo ;) Managed to light fire without a lighter or matches today so atleast I'll be able to keep myself warm!

Upcomming march I will leave everything behind for an unknown period of time and start living out of my backpack while hitchhiking europe. Started preparing today. Can't wait for the adventures ill have and all the people I'll meet! It's scary as fuck to do this but at the same time so exciting to be living my dream pretty soon! Just sharing my stokedness (is that a word? if not it is now) Take care!

Did front-squats for the first time today. Damn was that a reality check that my flexibility sucks. Need to work on that a lot more. A well, now i got something more to work at :) -
So far i only got one tattoo but i can somewhat relate to your post. The proces of planning it, getting it and specially healing it was awesome. The tattoo was on my mind 24/7. When it was fully healed i got this feeling of ' well, now what?' I just couldn't really comprehend the fact i changed my body for the rest of my life. My tattoo is now a year old and it makes me smile when i look at it. I love it. Now what? Get more work done and keep on living

I babysit a 10 and a 7 year old. Today i introduced them to Lucero. They loved the music. Pretty awesome if you ask me

Figured i'd bump this thread with a little update. Today was deadlift day and I managed to lift 120kg, which is a new PR for me. Every time i break a PR it boosts my pride and self esteem. It's a direct result of my own hard work and that's the best feeling ever -
After reading everyones stories i feel obligated to share my own. Well here we go. I'm Chris, a 19 year old kid from Leiden, The Netherlands. High-school for me started being the worst time of my life. Being a metalhead since the age of 9 I went to high-school as a 12 year old chubby kid with long hair and a squeeky voice. Since i was the only longhaired metalhead 12 year old the bullies thought of me as an easy target. This led to delving deeper into my music and finding hardcore. Looking back to that time i'm just glad i stayed true to who i am despite all the shit i got for being me. Forward to 16 years old. The hair and the squeeky voice were gone, the bullying wasn't. One day i had enough of it and went apeshit crazy. The little 12 year old turned into a 1,85m high 83kg heavy mass of hatred. No one messed with me after that. Met awesome friends in classes and been hanging out with awesome people ever since. Lot's of parties, lots of concerts. Good times. After high-school i went to University to study law. After 2 months i realized it wasn't for me. Not only was it boring as fuck, the entire system was just build around being a lawyer that makes money of off unfortunate people and i was surrounded by the most self centered people i have ever met. Dropped out and started working at an indonesian take away place where i worked till last summer. I also did and still do vollunteerwork at a homeless shelter. This is where i found what i want to do in life. Helpin people. Started college this september to be a social worker and aced my first testperiod. For aslong as i am into metal/hardcore i've been into tattoo's. All my favorite artists and bands had tattoo's. They were badass, therefor tattoo's are badass. I had to get tattoo'ed. Luckily I waited till I was 18 years old and went to a good local shop. This was last year. I got the crest of the city i grew up in on my left calf. This city gave me my friends and made me who i am. Everything that happened to me happened in this city and it just felt right getting the crest permanently on my body. More tattoo's will definitely follow in the future but at the moment I simply can't afford quality work. Take care, Chris

Im having doubts as well on it being the same tattoo. the fresh tattoo has more teeth on the top row and the jaw the check has a completely different angle. The darkest spot of the tattoo doesnt just disappear when healed. just my 0.02$

for me being a college student i'm surrounded by people who drink a lot during the week. It's easy to get caught up in it and it messed up my gymperformance badly (also my general energy level). It's weird that when you get a coke or water instead of a beer people call you a pussy because you want to be able to lift weight the next day heavyer then they would ever be capable of when they keep up with the drinking. IMO theyre the pussies;) -

deadlifted 102 kg yesterday 2 times in a row. Felt great! Been gaining strenght like there's no tomorrow since i stopped drinking during weekdays. Never realized how much of an impact alcohol has on overal strenght -
thought this quote was appropriate for this thread. If anyone knows the source i would love to have it. ''The tattoo is the mark of the soul. it can act as a window Through which we can see inside, Or it can be a shield to protect us from those who cannot see past the surface"

I was browsing the youtubes when i came across a music channel that had a playlist called behind the ink. Basically they interview band members about their tattoos. Some are absolutely crap and just warp tour body suits, but i found this little gem. Purified in Blood has some very tattoo enthusiastic members who got work by Thomas Hooper and Tim Lehi just to name a few. (if someone else allready posted these feel free to remove this) Take care

My parents were on vacation until the day i got my appointment for my first tattoo. I was hoped they wouldn't be back till after i got the tattoo but sadly they showed up 5 minutes before i had to leave. I just told them i was going to get a tattoo and my mum fucking flipped. My dad said nothing. When i got back my mum was positively surprised and was glad that i took time to find a good artist. My dad had his camera all set up and ready to take pictures of my new tattoo, he was almost as excited as i was. They did told me that as long as i live at home i need to inform them before i get a new tattoo next time so they can adjust to the idea;)

The urge to get a tattoo started when i was around 15 (luckily i didn't got one then) but I always told myself if i still want one at 18, im getting it then. Turned 18 and went to the shop in town that i knew put out quality work since i saw them winning several awards at conventions. I was nervous as fuck, didn't tell my parents anything and i thought i would walk out again with a tattoo, little did i know they had a 5 month waiting list. So last oktober the 20th It was time and i lost my tattoo virginity as the artist put it. It was a blast. The guy was great fun to talk to and he was the first one who introduced me to Lucero, which is now one of my favorite bands. I've been hooked since that day but haven't gotten any other tattoo's since i'm still young (19) and i don't want to go through all my prime real-estate before i can afford all the stuff i would like to get in the future.
