saw that on your fb. KILLER.

I am never too experienced to learn something new, and always humble enough to ask a friend/co-worker what they are doing when they do it better than me. A student for life.

Guessing he's showing the diff between the A, M, S, and N as they are properly made, vs the failed 'tattoo font'

When I was a kid and read comics non-stop, I always wanted (and dint really quite understand for a while) to win the Marvel® No-Prize for catching errors ad contradicting storylines. Urs, you win the No-Prize I never got.

No, the typeface we all use for letting in banners and signpainting and such is an adaption of Times New Roman. If you look at an example of that font vs many letters in tattoos and knuckles esp you will notice the most glaring of all, the commonly incorrently drawn 'A'. Same also for M, N, S, U, V, W, X, Y. Pretty much anything with an open end up or an open end down.

Have we discussed 'hipster' tattoos by good/well-respected tattooers? 30 pages is a lot to flip through.

Pretty much all of us understand and on board with the failing of backward tattoos. Why is backwards lettering so over-looked or dismissed by a lot of us? None of us are innocent on us, don't get me wrong. Some of us even wear it. But once I was taught about the proper method, I have never done it otherwise. And now when I see it, it's the thing my eye is drawn to the most, no matter how good the rest of it is, or who did the tattoo/drawing/painting/whatever. I'd say that 1/3 or more people I have worked with don't know this, or have adapted to not caring even if it is pointed out. I understand the concept of missing the forest for the trees, but it's not too hard to stick with it after someone showing you. Why is this?

"Tattoo what you want", misleading or true?
irezumi replied to Lochlan's topic in General Tattoo Discussion
"do whatever you want, put your own spin on it, as long as it looks exactly like the jpeg I brought in" -
Spaulding would sell to anyone with an address, professional or not. My roommate got a 'starter kit' back in 92, not knowing any better than the rest of us at that point, and went to our friend Tux about letting him tattoo himself there at the shop under his supervision. Tux looked at the 'pumas' he got and snorted & said "what is this, a necklace or a hood ornament?" hahahaha

I didnt read every post but I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned the flash sheet with Jeff Zuck's Hot Stuff ROA. I would show you guys but posting flash is in poor taste imo.

What I would've said if you hadn't already. Those people keep the lights on in my apartment.

I've seen a 3 day sleeve done with pefect healing. No holidays or drop-out whatsoever. Not that I've seen others in person, just speaking of that particular one.

I am glad to see that other people posted 'collector' well before I was going to. also, even before the tv show, I found the term 'canvas' deplorable. and finally, this is what my friend Rus wrote on his blog next to the photo of my tattoo he did.

The most technically imperfect tattoo I have is one of my favorites and has more magic than perhaps any other ones I have.

That's the most absurd thing I've ever heard. Also, who is charging you 200 or more $ an hour?

I see what you're saying, but I think you are making a broad statement of everyone's opinion.

Haha no I meant like I would probably not go to Hardy or Stell for a portrait, I probably wouldnt see Jondix for something colorbomb, I wouldnt see Stoney for anything that wasnt supposed to be done with anything smaller than an 8 round, etc. #notshittalk. I've just never seen a portrait that Stell has done, or the other things I mentioned.

Is this just turning into 'my favorite artists' thread?
