Yes, I think I prob paid close to that after tip, but he wouldn't charge someone 500 an hour. (as far as i know at least ha). I think he charged me 250 or 3 for a tattoo the size of my whole calf.

excellent question! I don't know if I would've, maybe yes maybe no. It is worth pointing out that one of Thom's mottos is 'tattoos need not be expensive'.. Yeah, that's possible? I do have a lot of work from Tux, and the only reason I met Thom in the first place is through his introduction.

Playboy has sent our shop magazines for years and years and we've never had a subscription. Same as at a different shop I worked in. They just show up in the mail. TBH, we mostly just open the plastic to find the cover bunny. Then it becomes less interesting and just winds up sitting on a counter or something.

pm'd Stranded is a nice shop. James & Kim both do really good work. I haven't been tattooed by either of them, but I do own a couple of Kim's paintings.

traditional american tattooing books
irezumi replied to cragdw's topic in Tattoo Designs, Books and Flash
Amazon.com: Used and New: Rocks of Ages: Being a Celebration & Manifestation of the Historic & Enigmatic Epidermal Icon As Seen by Various Artists $67 really isnt that bad for an out-of-print awesome book. I would buy it if i didnt own a copy already. Or, if you just want to look at it (and perhaps scan or photograph it) you can always use the inter-library loan program. I've had the chance to pore over multiple books that I would never have the chance to see or afford to buy. Public libraries for the win! -
Conventions.......Just don't seem the same!
