    My first tattoo was done by a friend at his house. I was once young and dumb enough to show it to Jack Rudy. He said "He was your FRIEND?" Anyway, it worked out, I married the handsome devil who was kind enough to cover it for me many years later. I'm a yoga teacher, and just like tattooers, there are more and more of them every day. When one of my teachers, Dharma Mittra was questioned about this, he said something like "Not everyone deserves a good teacher."

    I'll be interested to hear what everyone has to say, Scott gets a lot of pain in his hand from stretching the skin the way he does, and he's slept a wrist brace when it gets real bad. He mostly manages it with aleve and massage, acupuncture was working, but his acupuncturist moved to NY.

    Hey Chris,

    Thanks for joining us. I did see your post "sorry for the multiple post this site is driving me nuts,,i post things and they dont show up,,uuuhhg!" and then I saw you had 3 postings for the same machines in the marketplace. I think they just get screened in that area to make sure no one's trying to sell penis pumps and the like, but let me know if you're having any problems elsewhere. Our site's new, so we're working out the kinks daily.

    Hey you guys, I'm not a tattooer, but I am married to an awfully opinionated one who really loves his job and wants to protect the trade. We're not here to open up discussions on peoples' finances, personal lives, or to educate people on how to become a tattooer. I think if someone wants to ask if/how much to tip their artist, they can ask their friends who've been tattooed, another artist, or even the shop helper. If someone wants to become a tattooer, they should probably stop talking and get drawing. We just want to support and promote tattooing in general with interesting stories of tattooing in the past, interviews with tattooers in the present, and remind people to brush their teeth before their appointment. As this is a really young site, you as the early users can help control the direction LST takes. Start some threads going in the direction that you'd like, whether it's about history or upcoming events or apprenticeship stories or restaurants or whatever, doesn't even need to be tattoo related. User shaneenholm is a great example of a user sharing some interesting tattoo related knowledge, and he certainly isn't giving any tech secrets away. Also, if anyone wants to contribute an article or interview with another tattooer, video or written, we would be thrilled to have it.

    Jesus Christ! That backpiece is amazing. And we do have a bunch of interviews coming, we're just kinda new to getting things off the camera, onto iMovie, and then from there to here, but they are coming. Scott was in San Jose today and tonight for the dry run of Chris Conn's rendering class, he says that it was so amazing that he's gonna pay to take it again. So sorry for the delays, but I suppose that it's good that drawing and tattooing well takes priority over the mighty interweb, right?

    I did get tattooed by Dan, but I was just in the right place at the right time, I wasn't seeking him out, just hanging out in a shop. He was visiting SF and doing some rad designs on a friend, I was waiting in the lobby and getting bored. I got an idea to put an eye in my palm and asked him if he would do it when he was dome working on her. He looked at me funny for a minute, then agreed. When he was done, he showed me his matching one. I still have it, it's in there DEEP.
