  1. Sorry, didn't realize they were coming from afar, just checked out pics.
  2. We're sitting here, watching this over and over.
  3. As far as "multiple visits" go, you should never need to have more than one consultation for a tattoo. You can go in one time with all of your reference in hand, you discuss your ideas, and they trace the area on your body. You only need to return on the big day. The drawing will be done and ready for you, any last minute revisions can be done then. If you can't go visit beforehand at all, I'd suggest sending your reference images by mail, as not every tattooer is consistent about checking their email, and most don't prefer it as a way to receive reference material. You could have a friend trace the area of your body on a big piece of paper if need be, and then the artist would know the exact size and shape of the area. It also might be a better idea to have your ideas written down on a tangible piece of paper for handy reference, when they sit down to draw its at the drawing table, not in front of the computer.
  4. I second everything that everyone here is saying. You can google image yourself silly, print out all the stuff that you like, and if you take it to the right artist they will pull it together and make it happen. Yes, maybe you would have to bring an exact picture of what you want to a less talented/experienced artist, but why on earth would you want to get tattooed by someone who couldn't draw or had no creative vision? A tattoo is (more or less) forever, so you can end up either loving it or regretting it FOREVER. Drive a little further, get on a plane, go where you need to go to make sure you'll be happy with it in the long run. It seems to me that what you want is very doable, unless you want it as a tiny piece in a small area. I like your idea, and think it would work best as a back piece, or big chest piece, or maybe the top of the thigh, somewhere where you have a large area of skin. For your idea, it might not work out if you went any smaller than at least a half sleeve, bigger would be better.
  5. Hey, I looked at both artist's sites, it seems that Bez does more of the "exaggerated realism with color" style that you like. But it wouldn't hurt to meet and talk to both tattooers if you can. You might click with one and not the other, or one might have a lot more enthusiasm regarding doing your tattoo. You will be with the person for a few hours, and if you like both of their work, you might want to go with the artist with whom you'd have an overall better experience.
  6. Scott says it's totally fine, and that if an outline hasn't healed in that many days, he should have his immune system checked. Who's doing it?
  7. Hey Kyle, Thanks for joining in on our little family. Sorry to hear about your pain and depression, but I'm so glad we can help lift you out of it a little. London has one of the best conventions in the world, have you been? And don't regret your tribal arm band, tattoo fashions come and go, and it's a tribute to that period of your life in which you got it. I saw one tattooer on here refer to himself as a "regret applicator," I thought that was hysterical. Take care, Dari
  8. I'm really loving all of these stories. And ?Just surprised that it doesn't happen more often.
  9. We're planning on coming. Scott's driving back from LA right now, he should make it in time.
  10. Dcostello wins with his golden nuggets.
  11. No worries, this is our little baby, and we're keeping an eye out for spam daily. We will switch to a different system if it becomes a problem, thanks for the suggestion.
  12. Please make yourself at home. And I see that you're a professional regret remover, do tell us all about it. We already have this thread going, please join in: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/tattooforum/forums/11-Tattoo-Removal-or-Coverup

I love Unser, too. I don't know if it's exactly an obsession, I've always found it to be paternal. And dcostello, I find your humor to be charming.
  16. I remember when one of the first guys who did this sold himself as advertising space on ebay around 2001, he got at least $50K or so, and the advertiser also had to pay for the laser removal after one year. I remember one guy did his forearm, another the back of his head, but they both had the good sense (?) to only commit to one year. I think both of those ads were for software companies. Bummer for this guy and his lower-rent face, all these sites seem to have jacking off in common. In the interest of getting my facts straight, I tried to do some google research, but I've lost interest now that my husband's put on the first (good) Star Wars. The earliest mention I could find was 2005, but I know it was going on earlier because I know where I lived when I was watching the auctions on ebay. Here's one article I found: http://www.funstrangeamazing.com/?p=559 K, Luke's shopping for droids with his uncle, gotta go, there's R2D2 and C3PO.....

    Sons of Anarchy

We were away for 3 days, and I was hiking in the woods, staring at the ocean, building fires, enjoying my family, and wondering about the finale! Just saw it last night, and it was SO not a dissapointment. I'm rather pleased with how it all turned out, except now we're really gonna have some trouble with the russians, no? And Sobel, too, I imagine, especially while they're "inside."
  18. If anyone hasn't gotten their shirt, please let me know asap. Thanks again for all your valuable contributions here.

    Man Vs. Food

I've never seen the show, but I'm pretty sure I'm living a vegan food challenge, providing meals as a vegan for 3 non-vegan family members. Maybe follow me around for a day?

Dcostello and MsRad, sorry I missed you guys last night. We did bounce out of there pretty quickly, as I had to teach early this morning, and Scott had to finish drawing a backpiece. I have no idea what time he came to bed. Sick show, though, huh? And how about Oliver Peck closing it down? Good times.
