  1. We should meet at Manzanita sometime, they're pretty much ALWAYS serving collards these days.
  2. As soon as I get off this god dammed computer I'm making Kidney Bean and Butternut Jamba Stew. When it's cold like this, I crave hearty soups and spicy stews, winter squashes, root vegetables, lotsa potatoes, and the more onions, garlic and spices the better. Earlier this week I made Yam and Black Bean Soup w/Orange and Cilantro, it was awesome. Myself and a bunch of moms sat around eating it after a long, cold day in the park, and it was satisfying enough to completely tune out the 6 monkeys destroying my house. Last week I made Quinoa, White Bean and Kale Soup, and it was really good, despite it's suspiciously healthy appearance. I suspect that what made it all come together was some crushed fennel seeds and the world's biggest parsnip. Clearly these are the things that I'm craving, as they are the things I'm cooking. There will also be a Potato Spinach Curry in my near future. MsRad, the sumatras are really good right now. Honeycrisps are my current apple of choice, it very much changes with the seasons, sometimes weekly!

  4. If you come to our studio, you don't even need to bring a mat, we have ones that you can borrow. Just wear comfy, stretchy clothes that you can sweat in, gym shorts and a wife appreciator work fine. You'll see dudes in some classes with their shirts off, but that's so unnecessary! My husband just reminded me that I told our friend Demian Kane that there was "no room for his nipples in my class." Just make sure that you arrive early enough to get set up, and let the teacher know it's your first class and if you have any injuries. And please try to wrap your brain around the fact that in yoga, the poses are secondary to the breath. As far as food goes, one is traditionally supposed to have an empty stomach, which doesn't work for me at all. Just eat lightly, no burritos or pasta. And nothing too spicy, as you will be inverting, as this can cause heartburn. I usually have a light protein/meal replacer shake mixed with two small apples or a banana if I'm able to plan my day out right. Here's a link to my classes: http://dariloveyoga.blogspot.com/
  5. I just saw it last week, and I want to see it again, glad I'm not the only one left wondering.
  6. I really, really, really hope you both check it out. It would also be lovely to have either in any of my classes, weds morning and fri nights would be best. But Alice is one of the most amazing teachers in the bay area, so her beginner classes are invaluable.
  7. Um, no, you should not get into Bikram. You should take Intro to Yoga with Alice here: Loka Yoga
  8. Hot, very hot! And it's the grin that pulls it all together!

These rule, thanks for sharing them. Are some of these your birds?
  10. Hey Lisa, welcome! Are you a tattooer, collector, or just curious? Make yourself at home, either way.
  11. There have been other places on the forum where I've wanted to say "I love you guys," but I really, really mean it today.
  12. Hello, and welcome, new user of our site. Where are you from?

  13. Bet there will be lots of conventions in your future, and we will meet at one eventually. Extra merry to you, my new friend!
  14. I've been blamed for so much more. You probably needed a shower anyways, you should be thanking me.
  15. Husband + wife | Flickr - Photo Sharing! is amazing.
  16. Wow. How does this kind of thing happen? That seems like a real big patch of skin on an otherwise unembellished arm, crazy.
  17. Oh, duh, knew I saw it somewhere myself. The guy was getting little scenes from Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights. The tats were beautiful, no computer pic could do it justice, but here it is-
  18. You rule. I have to say it again, 'cause software says message is too short, so- You rule.
  19. Maybe we can figure out a thurs, or I can do weds nights, but I can't get there before 9:30 'cause I teach until 9, so someone would have to order for me. Anyone been here yet? I was just here last week, it was pretty awesome- encuentro cafe and wine bar menu
  20. Jake, he's an artist that shows at Gallery 22 on Post, I believe? If we're mentioning paintings, here's one of my faves, although a pic could never do it justice: I met a guy who was having every little scene from this painting tattoed somewhere on his body from a woman in NY, does this sound familiar to anyone?
  21. I love this, thanks for sharing it with the story.
  22. Dunno anything about the tech end, I'll ask the smart guy.
