my thoughts exactly. based on the tiger, he will likely just be strengthening some of the lines and leaving the detailed lines as is. i love when tattoo placement is so good, it looks like the new tattoo was placed there before the others.

My artist actually asked if I could come in so he could do it. I know he was really determined to make the design perfect and I think he just wants to touch it up a tad in some spots, I'll ask him when I go back in what he had in mind exactly. Regardless, I trust him enough based on his other work that whatever he needs to do will look best. Other than that I'll probably end up getting a small filler near my wrist after the touch up.

@stlm It should be someone's responsibility to tell Marius that he needs to take a trip to North America.

@Wyatt Strange That eagle is great. If I can offer some unsolicited advice, I wouldn't thicken the lines. Time will do that to them anyway.

Got this Rollo eagle on Sunday. Done by Steve Goodspeed at Gold Rush Tattoo in Costa Mesa, CA. I'll be going back in a few weeks once it heals for a bit thicker of an outline.

I found linework to be quite easy to heal. I mean a bit swollen and bruised for a few days. We didn't even wrap it up at the end of the session. I just threw my shirt and pants on. Went home had a beer and jumped in the shower haha.
Shading patches were difficult though to heal. It reduces your mobility a lot while healing those sessions because it is such a large area, you get to thriller-walk around haha. Especially the ones on the spine, in between the shoulder blades. I could handle the itch, but maaaan my back and shoulders were ultra stiff for a good week. Itching would come and go to different areas at different times. I don't know, can't really explain, it is something you just gotta live through and experience it for yourself (if that's your tattoo desire!). Backpiece tattooing IS a heavy experience but the whole process of tattoo and healing is very enlightening and exciting.

By the way, I was getting tattooed by Freddy years ago and mentioned to him that I wanted to get a tiger and a baku or maybe a tiger and rooster from Lehi. Freddy said, "Just get two tigers. Two tigers would be bad ass." He was right (of course). It's only fitting that he wedged my son's name above one of those tigers.

if you're purchasing art, think of how to transport it. a large tube could work, depending on how much art you plan to get. with all all the shops in the Bay, you can easily go broke on this trip!

Blackheart always has prints, shirts stickers etc. Defintley worth a visit.
Some of the guys at Spider Murphy's have prints etc but they're not usually displayed. If you go, ask to see if anyone has anything available.
If you are in Santa Cruz, go to California Electric (Thad Ritchey, Herb Auerbach and Stefan Johnsson). Beautiful shop and great tattooers. O'Reillys should be on your list down there too. See if Dan Wysuph has any of his "Oh California" prints.
Also, go to the mystery spot. It's great. And cheezy. But great.
