  1. @irezumi is experiencing technical difficulties, so he asked me to post this pic: Fourth from the left is Pike Green. Third from the left is Grass.
  2. Welcome! I lived in Austin from 1990 to 1997. Great town.

    rose

    I dig this so much.
  4. That's true. You can see (and buy) his artwork here: Christopher Conn Askew

    Bazinga!

Welcome, Claire! Make yourself at home. Got any tattoos?

    tiger snake

That is so badass. And I feel your pain. :)
  7. Bryan's awesome! He's at Spider Murphy's now. He's also a hilarious smart-ass. He made the already pleasant experience of getting tattooed by Stuart Cripwell that much more fun.
  8. Anybody get episode 2 to play yet? I keep getting an error on their site.
  9. Coincidentally, @dcostello told me that, in many towns and cities in the north of California, getting an X tattooed on the back of your hands gets you free drinks. He was wrong.
  10. I'm flattered! I'll also jump on the bandwagon and go with my tigers. All credit goes to Mr. Lehi. I just had to lie there and take it, and he was kind enough to complete the whole affair in 7.5 hours. And no, I did not get them in one sitting. He actually broke it up over 4, so it wasn't that bad. Who am I kidding? It was the worst, but at least he's fast. Really, though, there are so many jawdroppingly good tattoos that I see almost daily--often from our very own @Valerie Vargas and @Stewart Robson, but also from local shops like Blackheart and Spider Murphy's--that I can't pick a favorite on someone else. There's just too much good stuff out there.
  11. You more than make up for it with your tattoo machine. And I hope you don't mind, but I edited the thread title for you. Good luck and enjoy your trip! American Graffiti is a great shop, and you can eat at Tower Cafe every day.
  12. When Jill Bonny was tattooing the dots in the part of my snake that wraps around my left butt cheek, I tried to distract myself by counting the dots. I stopped after 300.
  13. @Stewart Robson, I was hoping you'd say, "Lie back and think of England." I always try to take deep, controlled breaths. For me, it helps to inhale deeply before the needle hits, then exhale slowly for the length of the needle attack. I only do that when things get really bad, though. Like for the entirety of my ribs.
  14. In all seriousness, Snow has some joints. All I can find is a snippet online, but I love this 45: Snow - Dancing Alone
  15. I think the dislike is kinda harsh for voting down someone's own tattoos. If it's an artist uploading their work, that's one thing, but LST doesn't currently differentiate between artists and collectors.
  16. @Joe Shit, the irony is that, if you got lasered, you would actually see god. ;) Seriously, though. If you're happy with them as tattoos, then keep them. I'm reading The God Delusion right now--a very eye-opening and brilliantly written book by Richard Dawkins--but I still love my religious tattoos.
  17. I see what you mean, but at the same time, you can't believe in Satan if you don't believe in Jesus. He's part of the Christian story, right? I was raised uber-Catholic, then became a lapsed Catholic, then hung out in the agnostic phase before finally admitting that I'm actually an atheist. Some brainwashing takes longer to get past than others. :) But I have a sacred heart and a Mary tattoo, and I'd still like a ROA and a curly-bearded Jesus tattoo at some point. The imagery is gorgeous, and when it comes to my personal tattoos, that's all I really care about.
  18. Wow! I just saw that on a blog and thought, "Damn, THAT'S what you do for an elbow. That looks incredible. I'm such a sucker for Tudor roses in all their variations, and the outer design kind of reminds me of a mandala.
  19. BUMP! Brian just posted more shots of the Shoki body suit he's working on. It looks incredible--check it out! TRUE NATURE TATTOO: Shoki
