Huge thanks, @Dan S! I know that many LSTers will likely look at those images and shudder at the quality of the artwork--I'll admit that I'm not jonesin' to wear a lot of what's shown there--but I still love it and recognize that those folks really paved the way for people like me.
It's funny to look at the relatively small scale of some of those tattoos as compared to the full backpieces/sleeves/suits people get left and right these days, but it's important to remember just how insane that stuff was at the time. And the ladies with face tattoos...my god, I can't even get my head around how nuts that must've been!
And how funny is this? An old friend emailed me last night with a Wild Bill story. He's the guy with the full suit (largely by Ed Hardy) posing with two naked ladies in your third pic down.
