  1. I like to imagine that Valerie and Stewart sit around sipping Earl Grey, sketching horses while (ok, whilst) old episodes of The Young Ones play in the background.
  2. Damn, you do nice work! Welcome to the forum.

  3. Thanks, Dave, and welcome!

  4. Oh, man...two British Stoos (Stuart Cripwell from Wales and Stewart Robson from England) absolutely crushing this thread. The Robson Pharaoh's Horses that Kyle just posted is one that I've ogled many times. It's entirely too good. Whipshading at its finest and not at all out of place. I'd still give him a wedgie if I ever met him, provided I was wearing a cool guy hat, but Robson's stuff never disappoints. The ability to pull off extra-tough Americana classics AND do jawdropping large-scale Japanese work is a rare skill combo, and he seems to have it in spades.

    The Jesus

    Sweet Jesus! Also, killer lettering.
  6. Do you also not care about other things that can't be seen with a mirror, like your hair or your face? :)
  7. I also got my first tattoos from Rollo (in a motel in Austin back in 1992), and he certainly made a big impression on me. At Skull & Sword, Grime has a Rollo original on the wall; it's a cobra and skull he painted in 1979. It might just be the toughest shit I've ever seen. It has lots of the cool trick elements people are using now--heavy whip shading, snakes with no eyeballs, hits of bright green--and he did that back in 1979. When I saw it, I felt so sad that I didn't have room for it.

  9. This is great, Kev! Thanks so much for posting your pics. I don't know how I missed the mini shop installation while I was there.
  10. I said that recently, then remembered that my entire ass is tattooed. Funny the things you forget sometimes.
  11. YYYYYESSSSS! That is so killer, Ms. Rad!
  12. No hands, neck, face, scalp or junk. I'm tattooed just about everywhere else, though (but not fully covered). I still have the front of both thighs and one knee open. Just little spots elsewhere.
  13. Great ship, Rory! I love that flower at the bottom.
  14. My pleasure, Bill! What brings you to SF, if I may ask? We have mutual acquaintances and I have some of your product in my skin (man, that sounded weird).
  15. Stewart, if you ever get a chance to visit Chris Trevino's shop, you'll see many more Hardy originals. You'll see lots and lots of other stuff, too; it's practically overflowing with incredible art.
  16. My wife and I went to this yesterday: SF MOMA Artists Gallery: The Unruly Art of Ed Hardy. Really incredible stuff, much of which I'd never seen or only seen in books. He had lots of tiger depictions, too--always a plus for me. Anyone else here seen the show?
  17. Still not completely healed, but here are those English roses that Stuart Cripwell put on me last week (photo taken just after he put 'em on): English Roses by Stuart Cripwell, Spider Murphy's - Tattoo Gallery
