  1. You gotta hit City Lights Bookstore in North Beach for the SF experience. And yes, Kinokuniya Bookstore in Japantown Mall is awesome. Bonus: just under it, on the ground floor, is Suzu Ramen, my favorite ramen-ya in SF.
  2. You got a Lehi tiger! Obviously, they're my absolute favorites.
  3. He remembered me a year after meeting for 5 minutes at a convention. It's kind of insane, but I've known other artists like that (Chris Trevino, for one).

    Hi

Haha, yes! That was me, my wife and daughter. Too bad I missed you--I'd have loved to see your piece in person. Keep an eye out for me at the convention that Saturday.
  5. Damn, @sleepy mel! That's on you? Lucky gal.
  6. Awesome! Thanks for sharing those great stories, Avery. I love the "first tattoo you didn't get" part, and the new crucifix looks great.
  7. To quote Brad Stevens' recent tweet: "I'm becoming less and less shocked by upside-down cross tattoos every day."
  8. @dcostello So killer! I love how Franny seems to be saying, "It was a trout, about yea big."
  9. Just popping in to say that @Duffa escaped the ban hammer by introducing the term "Gathering of the Sparrows."

Huge Jeezy fan over here. Tell your boy Tyler that you just got him another follower, so he can't dead that blog yet.
  11. It's one of my favorite things to do in San Francisco. I took our two-year-old to Fisherman's Wharf for half a day on Wednesday--we had a blast!
  12. Ha! [inside joke]We'll see how long it takes me to squat 185 "to fifty" today--then you can tell me if I'm an American badass.[/inside joke]
  13. I'm a huge Miyazo fan--his stuff is so incredible! And @kylegrey, I don't think anyone will be mad that you posted the above pics. So killer.
  14. That's so awesome. One to be proud of, for sure! (The tattoo and the kid, I mean.)
  15. Nah, different guy. He has a new sleeve from (gasp) Kamil. It's Jason from Friday the 13th. Let's just say it was not my cup of Earl Grey, if you get my drift. Still, a very nice guy, and it was great to chat with him.
  16. Wow! So jealous of your experience. Thanks for sharing it here.
  17. I'm the guy who often approaches tattooed people and asks who did their work. Sorry! I always try to make sure that my tattoos are showing when I do ask so at least there's a chance they won't think I'm a total asshole. Case in point: I just spent the first half of the day with my daughter at Fisherman's Wharf, and I saw a guy with a really awesome hannya on his calf. I asked him who did it and he said, "A guy in London named Alex Binnie." I replied, "Oh, at Into You!" I think I surprised him. He went on to say that London has so many great tattooers now, and I asked him if he knew of @Stewart Robson and @Valerie Vargas. He said, "I'm a cab driver in London--I drive them to Frith Street all the time!" Small world, and I'm glad I asked him about his tattoos.
  18. Oh, man! That's terrible news. He was such an enormous talent. RIP.

    Hi

Welcome, Lance! I also have a tattoo from Jill. Love the work she's done on you. When you get your background, you're gonna look suited!
