  1. @Jennifer Stell Fact: I was pierced by Richard Stell 20 years ago. I no longer have it, but he and I had a good laugh about it while he tattooed me two years ago. (That, I still have.)

    dagger

Thanks, @chasewheeler! Scott gets all the credit.
  3. if you really want some killer Japanese, STATE OF GRACE is just an hour away in San Jose.
  4. This is mostly directed at the big-brained @steve1461686340, but I thought I'd throw it out here to see if anyone else was interested. It would be nice to get a notification when someone leaves a comment on a photo in your gallery. Is that possible? Thanks in advance!
  5. All of those things are great on their own. Together--in any combination--they're super awesome. Go to him and see what he thinks. I'm sure you'll end up with something killer!

    big cobra

    Correction: biggest cobra. So amazing!
  7. As a point of clarification, tebori is hand tattooing. "Te" is Japanese for hand and "bori" (from "hori") is carve or engrave.
  8. Welcome! Also a fan of your work.
  9. Welcome to LST. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, though.
  10. You'll be cash poor, but tattoo rich. That's one helluva lineup!
  11. Thanks! Tim Lehi does my favorite tigers, and I'm stoked every day to have two from him.
  12. This thread should just be called " @irezumi isn't on Instagram."
  13. @irezumi I'd forgotten about that story! So insane.
  14. Super cool sleeve! And it's awesome that you found an artist who was so geeked on your idea.
  15. My Japanese is terrible, but I studied it for a year and try to practice it now and then. For me, it was cool to hear the Osaka dialect and intonation. I gotta go back and spend some time there.
  16. I disagree on both counts. I really loved this one, and having worked as a translator for 3+ years, I can tell you that direct, word-for-word translations rarely if ever work well.
  17. Well, then, I'll consider that my good deed for the year! I'm so happy that worked out for you. Richard's work speaks for itself, and I'm very stoked to have a little piece from him.
  18. That's so awesome, @G.Uristti! Question for you tattooers with kids: when you color in their coloring books with crayons, do you fill in using lots of tiny circles? Semi-serious question. :)
  19. That's great news, @phickey! Sounds like you're on a good tattoo path. I just checked your gallery and was happy to see multiple Richard Stell pieces.
  20. Welcome! Who's doing your zombie sleeve? And who's on your bucket list?
