    Hello, I'm Hank!!

Howdy, hank! Thanks for introducing yourself.
  8. Man, I really miss getting my arms tattooed. I'm right there with you!
  9. If you don't like pain, by all means, go for a backpiece. Total cakewalk. :)
  10. Freaky! I like it. And welcome, @Grant.

    Hello all

Welcome @Swan. Good luck with your future plans!
  12. That really is ridiculously gorgeous--and that's a BIG peony (in a not-so-fun spot)! Congrats.
  13. OK, I'll be the one to ask: You only have one tattoo and you're starting an apprenticeship?
  14. It doesn't get much "lower leg" than the ankle, @Delicious! My most painful tattoo to heal was the recent one on my ankle. Similar to your experience, it took longer than normal to heal, but in the end, healed perfectly. You could probably switch to a fragrance-free lotion at this point and just apply a small amount as needed. If your tattooer tells you different, take that advice over mine (read: I'm not a tattooer).

    Hi folks!

    Excellent choices! Welcome.
  16. Bill and Junii are such awesome people. Please post a pic of your peony! I can already guess that it has white-tipped leaves. :)
  17. @irezumi: Love you, buddy! I missed the pics here, but man, I'm glad I checked 'em out. Congrats! My wife just completed her PhD dissertation (also in History--US) last weekend, so I know how involved it is. Huge kudos to you. She's at UC Berkeley. Where are you?

    Hello all!

Welcome, Gabe! Do you tattoo in Houston now? If so, where do you work?
  19. I know I'm not the only one who'd love to see your Flatmo work. And welcome!
  20. But I will amend the above and say that the first 10-15 minutes of any tattoo tend to suck. I always liken it to jumping into a pool. At first it's freezing, and you can barely stand it. Then the feeling normalizes a bit, and you acclimate. But if you get out of the pool for a while and jump back in, it feels cold all over again. For me, it's the same with taking breaks during a tattoo. Good luck, and definitely report back!
  21. No apology is necessary, @Deb Yarian. It speaks volume of your character that you made one at all. Sometimes, people come across as defensive or hostile online without intending to, but I don't recall your posts coming across that way. I know I speak for LST when I say that we're excited to having you contribute again.
