  1. That is so gorgeous, @Jade1959! You must be over the moon.
  2. Show us why! I saw that awesome Arriola print on your Instagram. Speaking of: thanks to the illustrious and praiseworthy @Avery Taylor, I have an appointment with Matt Arriola at 4pm today.
  3. That looks fantastic, @kylegrey! And you're lookin' ripped, buddy. :) You made such a great choice going with Ian. Is there a cover-up in there, too?
  4. Welcome to LST! You hit on all the things I love about this place.
  5. This post needs photos! I love, love, love Ian's work.
  6. I'm not about to click on @Graeme's link, but I do want to strongly encourage you to get this tattoo. #sweetjones

    Hello LST

I like TDI diesel engines. Welcome!
  8. Super awesome stuff! Thanks for sharing and welcome to LST. What do mean by "sponge in a jar"? Is that a reference to the old "sponge and bucket" method of hygiene?
  9. Fuck everything. An O'Donnell tiger and an O'Donnell snake together? @Roca53 might not win this contest, but he wins life.
  10. @BrianH, I had spots like that on my ditch that lasted a few weeks. I had scabs behind my knee last month that lasted 3 weeks and looked a lot like that. Resist the urge to pick it (easier said than done) and hope for the best. All my aforementioned spots healed fine.
  11. Thanks again for the tattoo and hospitality last week, @Nick Colella. You've built a great shop full of history, beautiful flash, talented artists, and nice people. You have a lot to be proud of.
  12. I finally got around to reading that Jack Rudy article today. Thanks, @irezumi! Definitely hadn't seen that one before.
  13. I have more bugs than I realized. Itsy bitsy spider by Ben Grillo: Moth by Capilli Tupou: (I gotta get healed pics of this thing, but it's behind my knee.) Spider lady by Richard Stell: And a Bob Roberts black widduh:
  14. Welcome @NICKY! I agree: the interviews are one of the best things about LST.
  15. A friend of mine (with an incredible collection) once told me about an old timer in DC. I'll have to find out his name, but if you went to him for your first tattoo, he would only do a Hot Stuff. Facing backwards. I wonder if your client went to the same guy? Probably not, but I like your acetate theory better.
  16. Those double sharks on the chest are cool as hell.
  17. Gallery's as good a place as any. Then you can post them here if you want.
  18. I went to Chicago (first time!) for a very short work trip. However, I did manage to squeeze in an appointment with Nick Colella: He wedged my wife's name into a little spot below my left knee ditch and right under a girl head I got that looks just like her. I didn't tell her I was going to do it; when I got home last night, I said, "My leg hurts. Can you look at it for me?" Fortunately, she loves it as much as I do. Nick was awesome. He did the whole thing in about 15 minutes, then I hung out and soaked in his beautiful shop for a while. Nick, Erik, Frank, and Matt were all super gracious and chatted with me for a long time. I can't recommend Great Lakes Tattoo highly enough. And they take walk-ins all day!
  19. Awesome tattoo bookends, man. Welcome from another SF LSTer.
  20. Good lord, that mockingbird is nice! Texas state bird. :) Welcome.
