  1. Should I have waited to tattoo "mini" on my pen0rz?

It's raining roses! I'd get that one in a heartbeat.

    Tough as nails!
  4. I'm callin' fake--no way the artist packed in that much solid yellow in one sitting. Also, the outline appears to have been done with a broomstick.
  5. Icognico! I like it. Signed, Inhoggnito
  6. He tattoos PLG and um...whatever his girlfriend's name is. The blonde from New York.
  7. Ben Grillo was in one episode. Where were you, Nico? Making a Cuatro Milpas run? :)
  8. Yeah, and I think he didn't even start tattooing until he was 36? So nuts, man.
  9. The Kuniyoshi woodblock print of Rori Hakucho Chojun is a very common choice for Japanese back pieces: Click here for a ridiculously huge version of it done by one of my very favorite artists, Horiyasu (of Asakusa). While you're there, go to WELCOM To ASAKUSA HORIYASU and check out the rest of his work: all of it is stunning. But far and away my favorite interpretation of it is by Chris Brand (on Ben Grillo): Cholo Samurai in the L.A. River, dodgin' bullets with a switchblade in his teeth and a bunch of single-needle tattoos. I'm not positive, but I think that Jack Rudy did a few of the tattoos on the Cholo himself.
  10. Oof...let's just say that the drawing was almost twice as big as I thought it would be! Not so much a "rib tattoo" as a "rib/stomach/any remaining space on my torso/between my chest tattoos" piece." But hey, go big or go home, as the kids say. Parts of it come dangerously close to my nipples, navel, and armpits. The one saving grace is that Tim is fast. My next appointment is 1/29. Feel free to stop by and laugh at me, Lochlan. :)
  11. Very cool take on a hyottoko!
  12. Do yourself a favor and follow this blog: TRUE NATURE TATTOO Brian Kaneko tattoos out of True Nature, a private studio in Arcata, but I met him (briefly) at Diamond Club. I can't claim to know him at all, but the few times I've met him, he's been really nice and very humble. He's an old friend of Bill and Junii Salmon's and, like Bill & Junii, adheres to the Horitoshi style of tattooing: BLACK backgrounds, white-tipped peonies, and...well, you know it when you see it. On his blog, he's documenting a full suit he started on a client who had no other tattoos. It's really great to watch it start to come together.

Holy shit...is this what did the first night of the SFO convention? So badass.
  14. Whoa! Not the usual Sylvia stuff, but this is great. I love the look of solid Polynesian work.
  15. A few years ago, Bill Salmon told me that I should get all the tattoos I want as soon as possible. He said that the older you get, the more it hurts and the longer it takes to heal. Mr. Salmon knows a helluva lot more than I do about these things.

Tim Hendricks has arrived, ladies and germs. Game over! Always loved this piece.
  17. Thanks for sharing this, Nick. It's important stuff, and it's nice to see someone who cares about preserving the history of this thing.
  18. I'll add on to the chorus of thanks and praise. That was great, Mario!
  19. Tropical zodiac for life! Also, it's nice to know that there are so many other Aries here. I wonder which sign is most likely to get heavily tattooed? I'll go with Aries for now. :)
