He seems to have removed pretty much everything. Which is good, I guess. Were they photos he was trying to pass off as his own? I've seen people copy the work of others (usually with shitty results), but to just straight-up steal photos of tattoos he hasn't been anywhere near is pretty dumb.

Without tattoos, he's kind of cute. There's a gif floating around somewhere in which he smiles, which is pretty much heart-melting. I wonder how long he'll be able to make a living based on his appearance. Will people get bored of him (for lack of a better word), or will he carve out a niche and be able to keep doing modelling and advertising like this?

On most forums, I use the "New Posts" or "Today's Posts" feature. On other forums, this usually brings up any threads that have been posted in since I last viewed them, but the "New Posts" feature here doesn't seem to do that? For example, this morning I got on after about 10ish hours since last visiting, and "New Posts" yielded a list of 2 threads. After a bit of rummaging, I could see a lot more had been going on since my last visit but wasn't brought up in New Posts. Obviously this is a tiny issue, but it might be worth having a gander at.

I really can't understand how anyone can be allowed to keep these kinds of animals. The fact that this guy had been convicted of animal cruelty, and still had such a large number of potentially dangerous animals living on his property... the mind boggles.

Whoa... and SHE paid YOU?! That's the life ;)

Same dude that did Axe Cop! Sweet.

That's it though, the US government has left people in the lurch for too long, not raising minimum wage at appropriate intervals. There is no way to correct that immediately, and trying to do so would only have a negative effect. It has to be a gradual thing. As for CEOs, they don't just pay themselves. Board members and shareholders determine the amount, and yes it's ridiculous, but there's no other way. Occasionally, people start throwing ideas around like "cap CEO salaries". Which, again, would only have negative effects, sending businesses offshore (and be kind of an affront to your whole "land of the free" thing).

To be fair, it's not an official list, just something proposed by an individual. And the movement is supposed to be neither left nor right. Around the country today, little offshoot occupations in our state capitals are supposed to be happening. I'll be interested to see how many Australians identify with this movement, and what sort of press coverage it gets.

It'd be too big a jump. Minimum wage is supposed to be something that rises gradually, in step (roughly) with CPI/inflation. Just hiking it up to an arbitrary number like $20 would mean nothing but disproportionate rises in the cost of everything. The list I was referring to before was this: http://www.occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-for-occupy-wall-st-moveme/

The tax thing, I totally get. It's much easier for the big end of town to dodge taxes, and from what I've seen that's a pretty big problem in the US. But free college? I kind of agree with the reporter. I think in the UK they have (or are about to implement) a similar system to Australia. Most students go to uni for "free", then once you graduate and earn over a set amount (think right now it's $45k/year) you start paying it back. It's like a loan, but it has virtually no impact on any other credit activity and attracts no interest (only rises with CPI). That, to me, is totally fair - if higher education is going to benefit me, via allowing me to earn more money, why should other tax payers pay for it? Some of the other things being called for are a bit OTT, too. The group as a whole seems to have no definite demands, but certain sections of it are asking for the government to "forgive all debts", "ensure living wage regardless of employment", "raise minimum wage to $20/hr". Please.

When people are vulnerable (sick/injured), it's understandable that some might not trust, or feel comfortable around, someone with tattoos. Not justified, but understandable.

Australian houses among world's most expensive - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) It kinda balances out. I see how cheap food/clothing/housing/cars/everything is in the US... it almost makes moving there attractive! Almost ;) Oh, and my earlier dilemma is solved. Totes baking delicious vegan cookies to take to my next appointment :D

I've noticed I get harassed by charity collectors a lot less now ^.^ If people disapprove, they seem to keep it to themselves. I get weird looks occasionally (I'm hardly "heavily tattooed", but they are visible at most times, especially now heading into summer), but if strangers approach me it's usually to ask questions or tell me how much they like them. Haven't noticed any difference from waiters/counterstaff, people in retail are always suspicious but that was the way even before I was tattooed (I must look poor?).

Are we on the verge of history being lost?
ThaliaCamille replied to inked photography's topic in Crazy Tattoo Stories
I don't think you ever lose history altogether, people just have different areas of interest. When I did my first photography qualification, I had to do a year of assignments using different film formats, developing and making prints myself. I shudder to think of how many hours I spent adjusting various things, wasting paper and inhaling gnarly fumes. Hated it. All well and good as a base to begin learning from, or as a hobby, but I don't share the opinion of that educational institution that it's "vital knowledge", or that it was necessary to spend so much time on it. I straight-up prefer digital, and don't understand the attitude of some that that makes one "arrogant" or "ungrateful". Some people (to continue using the photography example) find that they learn a lot by using film. Or that they enjoy it. Others don't. And just as the K1000 seems to you to be "back to basics", there would've been a time when it was seen as all new-fangled and gadgety and set to destroy the livelihood of every photographer ever. Basically, learning happens differently for different people. If, at the end of the day, they're producing something effective, does it matter how they came to that point? How good someone is to have a conversation with, and how good they are at what they do, can be totally unrelated. -
Started on Tuesday, by Rachi at Black Throne. I have another pretty lady going on the top of my arm. Was supposed to have all the lines done in that sitting, but chronic illness strikes again. Still, bloody stoked. Also, the elbow is no joke :S still extremely swollen too! (sorry for the image overload)

Because it's the current font "en vogue". Popular with this clean, grey, angular/geometric graphic design style that's around right now. It's a bit of a design cliche to make jokes about hipsters and their undying Helvetica obsession.

Ha, I was about to start talking about how great the weather is right now, who I've got work by so far (all local)... then I realised that is totally off topic :P Starting my right arm. Rachi Brains :D

I think that's it, I've heard of people being paid ridiculously low rates in places like the US (like less than $10/hr! 15 year olds make more than that here!). Whereas here, we know most people are paid at least "enough", and if you have some spare change you throw it in the jar. I'd never dream of offerring money to, for example, someone working in a hotel, whereas apparently that's commonplace elsewhere in the world. Haha, I'd feel embarrassed if I offerred one of the above, and they were allergic or something ^.^ Starting a pretty big piece this week, maybe by the second or third session I'll have a better idea of what would be a nice gesture. Briiiiiiiiiiiizvegas :D
