Jef is painting alot more now and flying east to work at the upcoming richmond (virginia) tattoo convention in november. his tattoos are looking really clean and that Deno tattoo is proof of it. that thing is slick, and he did it at my shop in DC. i have a bunch of Jef tattoos but not anything thats been done in the last 10+ years.

Ohh Dan....we know your old school, im sure you can take some ball busting. irezumi is a great contributor to this forum/site so relax lets not push away the people here who make this place interesting as it keeps thinning out more and more and we keep getting "tell me what tattoo to get, tattooer to get it by and city to get it ins posts"(not from you, dont worry). That said, I like your posts and your loyalty and history you bring as a long time tattoo "collector" for lack of a better word. No need to have a chip on your shoulder.

ease up buddy. it's ball busting, and everyone i know does it to each other. especially when a client uses a slang term that makes us cringe.
also, there isn't anything wrong with $100 pieces of flash, and anyone who looks down their nose at someone who walks in and picks something off the wall gets less respect from me than someone who thinks less of that person.

I have also noticed many of these people uploading shitty work aren't even members who are participating in the forums or the blog sections so it makes me feel like they are just trying to post pics in hopes of getting customers, which kind of defeats the purpose of the website...

Ok at the risk of sounding like a huge bitch i'm gonna post this anyways...
As far as I know Scott and company started this site to promote good tattooing, and good tattooers. I've noticed lately in the members gallery there have been a lot of bad tattoos uploaded. Is this just going to turn into another tattoo photo gallery where anyone can post photos of every horrible tattoo they do, and then have people thinking that work is good because they saw it on a site that claims to promote only good tattooing? I feel bad when I log on and on the very first page there's awful tattoos being shown. Am I just a horrible person for thinking this or do others feel the same way? I feel like if I wanted to see average bad tattoos I could just do a google search or visit one of the numerous tattoo design websites. Is it wrong to have a moderator removing bad work at the risk of offending the person who uploaded it? We seem not to have a problem telling people in the forums when a tattoo is shit.

Check out this chest piece, both by Nick Colella. Can't go wrong, the man has that Traditional thing going on!
This pic is from the Chicago Tattooing Company website, there are many more there and on Nicks site, which is linked from there.
And if that ain't enough, take a look at his Tumbler feed...

I know what you're saying Avery, but I don't think I'm too old to hang it up. The day you say "i'm too old to skate" is when you start getting old.
Some of my best friends, P Wee & Joel Long from Bolder Ink, are over 35 and 40 and still skate, just like me. I'm pretty sure Grime still skates. Obviously Mike does too. All of us have broken an arm (or two!) but it doesnt mean it's gonna stop us from ever skating again.
3 years ago P Wee & I were at Vail and halfway through a day of riding when we noticed the guy in front of us on the lift was 60something and still ripping. PW turned to me and said "we still got 30 or so years left of this". This is how I see it too.
I'm also not scared to look like the old man and wear wristguards and a helmet.

Nothing "neo" here, just straight-up Traditional American tattoing done by the man I believe is one of the masters of the style today, Nick Colella of Chicago Tattooing Company. He laid this on me this afternoon in about three and a half hours.
