The sad part is- I dont think most people think they got a shitty tattoo. They get to be on tv AND get some wicked tatz.

Am I really the only asshole who loves watching the people get shitty tattoos? I love that the judges dont say anything.

Nope, I've watched every episode. It's like a train wreck. I can't stop watching. That being said I haven't liked a single tattoo on the show. I feel really bad for the "canvases."

I like to go with different people and dont expect my body to have a cohesive flow. The styles on my torso/arms are pretty different and I like that. Back is westeren traditional, front is thomas, one arm is thomas, one arm is chris (asian influnece) so they are all different. Ill prob stuff more tattoos between the bigger ones on my torso but my legs are all random slaped on tattoos from different tattooers. Personally thats the way I like it, but I have full respect for people who do one style/one tattooer but for me I like too maney styles equally to pick one. But...I dont see why you cant get other traditional tattoos from other tattooers and still have it cohesive.

I asked my wife last night, if we had paid the mortgage yet, and her first repsonse was "Why? Is there someone you "need" to get tattooed by." I said "No because it's the end of the month, but I like where your head's at."
I guess I am that predictable, but am trying to be good and save up money. Thinking about a trip to Chicago in Jan-Feb, do a Taylor street grab bag tattoo, and set something up with Erik Gillespie. A good friend is moving from Chicago to Boston and this will be the last time we can party and his chance to get one last piece from Erik.

Okay...as, I think, the oldest guy posting here, I'd best to act as the voice of reason.
You need to go out and find as much on Japanese body suits as you can, and then start working with Korey to get yours drawn up, cause buddy, you been had.

I dont particularly care for a completely cohesive looking body suit. A lot of it, for myself, and I think for others I know here, is that we love the art so much that we cannot commit to just one person. For myself as a non-tattooer, it gives me the opportunity to get some amazing work, and often, form friendships. But also, it's like with "big stuff," the torso, back, I intend on being loyal to a single artist so that it can look as complete as possible.

I go see chris and thomas pretty soon...love getting tattooed by them. Chris will be working at saved and kings ave as well, but next year I am excited to get tattooed at the private studio as well. My wife consults with hoyer soon as well so next year will be some fun new stuff.

Fuck pain. I don't need to be reminded that I'm being punctured-I've got probably over 30 hours of tattooing on me, I've been shot 3 times, stabbed, cut, beat, stomped, whomped, eye took out, and just generally abused. I can tell you about pain. And I can tell you that if you feel you need pain to make your tattoo a "real" experience, god bless you, you've probably never had any real-live pain, and I hope you never do.

I'll post some pictures when I'm back in Montreal because I don't know if I can do it on my phone but I got tattooed by Seth Wood and Thomas Hooper yesterday. Seth put some illustrations into a book he otherwise finished a year ago and now I have the world's smallest Baphomet tattoo. I also started on a raven sleeve with Thomas Hooper and it's shaping up great so far.

When I had my ribs done, Nick used some kind of numbing wipe before he put the col;or in. For awhile, all I could feel was that he was doing some damn thing there.
As a matter of course, I eat 7.5 of vicodin on my way in to sit, and if it goes longer than 3 hours or so, I'll eat another. When I got my ribs done, I added a 5mg. Valium to that, and yeah...it was like, all beautiful!
But hey-I came up in the 60's and 70's, you know, better living through chemistry.

    I'm Shawn.
I'm originally from Florida, I lived there until my early 20s when I moved to Philly in 1999 with a girl. Relationship didn't work out, but I fell in love with the city of Brotherly Love and have been there ever since.
I used to be totally self sufficient; from farming my own vegetables and hunting my own meat to canning or preserving the results. I could sew my own clothes, et all. 12 years in Philly and I've lost a lot of that. Luckily my Dad moved up here two years ago and already has me helping out with his garden and is re-honing my archery skills. My eventual goal is to move to North Carolina and not wear shoes unless I have to. (and that's not a joke)
I'm a foodie, a toy collector (biding my time before I start a Pushead thread on LST) and a nerdy blogger.

yeah... I'll have a better idea of what's going on with 2013 in December.
It's getting to where we can't keep up with it all. . . Or I just have been out of a shop so long I am having to reprogram myself to keep up w/ that, and be good at being on the road still... I know it seems trivial, I just like to be on point, I feel like I am getting thin skinned trying to retain it all: Schedules, appointments, designs, setup, breakdown, taking care of the man, and making sure each client is 100% or more happy with it all, and all the other joys of being a shop owner again, etc...
    Sound Fun?
Haha, it is... Too bad I'm getting old, and can't keep up with the cool kids anymore. Actually thank god for that. Maybe I'll be tattooing or at least painting again regularly by the end of the year.
