I was lucky enough to get a promo DL for this a few weeks ago and it took a little time but Im really digging this album. Its a lot to digest at first but yea it works.

Man...i love to visit NYC and get tattooed but none of those PROS make the CONS worth it. But its a short 6-9hr train/bus ride away. Plus..yea I bought 4 guns this year and waited 5-10mins to pick them up after the paper work is done..moving to NY would make some of these illegal (i think) All the ones id suggest are listed already. But, Ive been liking some of John Povertys tattoos he works at Goose tattoo. Goose Tattoo / Brooklyn / Tattoo Portfolio of John Poverty also....getting tattooed by krooked ken would be great.

I really enjoy this blog....non-tattooer with a tattooer interviews are tough and dont always go well/stay interesting but I think your doing pretty good. Some editorials on your own tattoo experince would be cool.

Yea but the flip side to that is its also annoying when people think that because I go to someone specificly that your only going for the name. If I see a tattooer I like work from I get tattooed by that person...I dont think thats crazy you know? Ill get shit from people who are like "you only get tattooed by big shots" etc etc and I just like to add some adventure/travel and fun to my tattoos. Plus Im older now and have a decent job so if I want a tattoo from someone whose work I like I get it.

I agree......I like @Dan S ....I disagree with a bunch of his views but some I agree with... but at least hes not a bullshitter. Plus he likes guns and tattoos 2 things I like a lot as well.

Yup....I agree even tho i have a westernized Japanese sleeve started. I think its got "flavor" but its a part of my "American" body suit of a mash up of tattooing styles. I dont want to be from japan and not posing as anything...im just an american who loves tattooing. That said the images do mean something to me. I do think tho the FULL BODY Japanese suit is special and I dont care how many of us americans get them you CANT water that down. Thats just too strong.

Totally, those are great. I want a Sköll tattoo. I guess to me getting a tattoo from your own culture is great, but people go nuts about that. Im american, thats the culture Im proud of.... and that's just a greasy melting pot of all our cultures.

Too bad neo-nazi morons are getting that stuff tattooed all over them thinking its some sort of white identity. Wont stop be from getting something "nordic" but still sucks. Either way, I love these old pictures some classic tattoos. I too have no issue with red, but pigments have prob changed since you got that tattoo.

Among other things, Ami tattooed along side some of the great New York Adorned tattooers who IMO ARE GREAT at Japanese influenced tattooing along with troy D, Mike R., Garver, Chris O'donnell etc etc. and I think that kind of company pushes you to be a great tattooer....and I think his Japanese is damn good. Just because people dont like that he brought tattooing to shit loads of people/people who wouldn't have cared before doesn't mean hes not a legit tattooer. Would I get a tattoo from him? Prob not, but mainly because I already go to people who completely satisfy my need for that style.

For a small one off tattoo its less important to me, but for long term work YES, i dont want to sit for hrs and hrs with an asshole.
