  1. When I worked at Vidal Sassoon in the 90s, people would routinely get turned away for asking for the Jennifer Aniston "Friends" haircut. It just wasn't a style they did. VS is known for geometric shapes and the Friends shag was just not done there. People would get sooooo pissed off. You don't want my money?!!!!! How about just go to another salon (or in the case of this article another tattoo shop) and NOT bitch and moan all over the place about it?!
  2. I'm not getting tattooed right now but @DJDeepFried is! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I was a punk rocker in high school (80s). I have always been drawn to creative people. My older sister was a big influence on me growing up. She is an amazing artist and just a cool, smart individual. She helped teach me not to care what others think, especially when it comes to your personal taste & style. I always thought tattoos were cool.
  4. Would you get me a panther? Thanks! ;)
  5. What has been said of that particular style @dresgallo, is that it does not hold up well. The colors fade and you end up with a washed out blob. Definitely look around here. Read threads like: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/general-tattoo-discussion/2396-what-makes-good-tattoo.html Some good information.
  6. Oy, the parents, @UglyButProud! Kids won't be in school forever, this is a stage that will pass. I see some parents get SO caught up in "school life"--volunteering, always there, gossiping...I sometimes wonder what they will do when their kids aren't in elementary school any more. Will they be like that at the middle school and high school? How about when their kids graduate? Not that there's anything wrong with volunteering...but volunteering and thinking they own the school & passing judgment on other parents...that's just lame. At some point they will have to move on and take up other interests. I feel bad for your kids, they are the innocent ones with closed minded people not allowing their kids to be their friends, teaching their kids to be closed minded, too. All you can do is what you are doing, ignore the naysayers because you are better off without them anyway. But, you really need a few more clarifying conversations with your wife. Maybe you can show her what you wrote here so she knows exactly how you are taking this... I teach elementary school in Los Angeles. There are so many tattooed parents here, I don't think the haters can keep up :D.
  7. I think certain things look good with my tattoos and certain things don't, but it's not hard to coordinate since most of my wardrobe is black & gray. I tend to like the way a black tank top looks with my tattoos...so I have lots of different black tank tops!
  8. Sorry @UglyButProud, I think that is shallow of her. You are who you are, tattoos and all.
  9. No problem, it's Chris Conn! I have been yapping about him on the http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/general-tattoo-discussion/2257-chris-conn-back.html thread... :D
  10. Not exactly @Lance... man head modeled after Doug but with a man bun. But seriously though, no I'm not 100%. I have two ideas and I'm leaning toward one. His assistant said he would love both. Man bun. Sorry, it has nothing to do with a man bun but I can't stop saying man bun and man bun lifestyle. We just went out to dinner. It's the chocolate flourless cake talking.
  11. I think it's just a dig. They know that you are not mainstream so maybe they hope you'll stop getting tattooed or pierced if they use reverse psychology on you and call it trendy... I think my mom tried that too. Didn't work, I still like tattoos no matter what people who don't like them say! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. @CultExciter two good newses in one!! Welcome to the hot chocolate club. ;)
  13. @beez you are beautiful and I agree with everything that has been said in response to your post.. Sounds like he has some growing up to do. Meanwhile, of course it hurts, but now he can get out of the way of you finding a more meaningful relationship...when you are ready. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Think I waited about a week or two each time (I do Bikram, Barre, and Boxing). Kinda depends on your tattoo and how it's healing and what kind of workout you're going to do. If it's healing nicely, just wash it after, and it should be fine. If it's oozing or if it hurts....maybe wait.
  15. Not sure about the dry rubbing before rinsing thing...seems like that might work after the initial goopy phase. As for the brand--I have used H2Ocean spray on piercings as well as saline wound wash stuff from the drug store. Both work just fine. H2Ocean is just the same thing for a little bit more money. It's not a bad product. I guess if we buy it, we're paying for those endorsements and the cute packaging.
  16. I sent an email, so we shall see! Now, I wait.
  17. My first tattoo (24 yrs ago) was a small yin yang with fish, one black and one red. It's certainly not my best, but no regrets....you gotta start somewhere! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
