  1. Some people seem to think that being in a relationship means finding ways to control the other person. Seems kind of twisted. You're a tattooer! Of course you were going to get that spot tattooed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Not defending the tattoo... but that is a pretty great book, was the last one he wrote...
  3. Ok I took the freakin' thing. I got 7 too! But... Hell yeah I LOVE brunch. And bagels. Why is that on there? What's not to love about those two things? I married a nice Jewish boy. Bagels are a way of life over here. :D Actually, a ton of those things reminded me of a younger co-worker of mine who I actually love. She would probably check off 100 of those things but I don't care because she is fun and one of the few with a good sense of humor that I work with so whatever. Think I may have to start talking about Chipotle more but start calling it Chipot because that shit was funny.
  4. Look who tried holding me hostage this morning! I couldn't get up, almost had to call a sub!
  5. Good luck with the battle. I def agree with you that it is harmless. Hell, at least your tattoos are of a good quality. As for my location, yeah, part of me will always miss Boston, but I do love it here in SoCal. Been here over 15 years, it's home now.

    Fitness!

I hear you. I tried many types of exercise (different types of aerobics classes, running, etc.) and even different types of yoga and was always bored or found them to be too much of a chore. Something just clicked w/Bikram, it's the perfect thing for me. It's good to find a thing that helps you in life, whatever it is!

    Fitness!

There is a yoga thread somewhere, but whatever, that's what I do! I've been practicing Bikram for close to 12 years now...can't seem to live without it any more. Tried a month of Bar Method and liked it ok. If time and money weren't issues, I'd do both, but having to choose, I'm back at the hot yoga. I get more out of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It kind of sounds like a mother-son relationship. I'd try to shift the balance by talking it through (again) and coming clean... Facing the music before she discovers it some other way! I used to hide stuff from my parents if I knew they wouldn't like it but hiding stuff in a marriage is dangerous to the marriage. Causes mistrust, etc. that's supposed to be your partner! 9. @s3rndpt I have nothing against Pinterest! I have a whole board of tattoos (also credited, of course)...it's a convenient way to find the ones I love again if I want to see them. I love Pinterest for all kinds of things. Lately I've been finding some of my best kindergarten fun art projects on there, cool site for certain things.
  10. Tattooed ladies being put down again...very trendy. I just couldn't stay out of this one... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks, good to hear @Tesseracts. Once I get home I'll be able to rest it...I won't have to go to work as I'll be on summer vacation...but I will have to keep my daughter entertained. Maybe I can get her to be my servant and just bring me stuff as I lie on the bed & couch for a few days! (Riiiiight.)
  12. So sorry @Fala :-( What bad timing, hope you can get in with him soon. Do you live in NY and you flew out to CA?
  13. I like leopard print too! jeans of the day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. No need to apologize! Just letting you know, there are a lot of first tattoos you can see there........ :)
  15. This has been an ongoing thread: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/crazy-tattoo-stories/5-your-first-tattoo-story.html
  16. Thanks @Reyeslv, I definitely think you should go for it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. @Colored Guy I've been meaning to send my condolences, too, and wish the best for your wife. Sounds like you two have a good thing going on and I hope it continues for a long time to come.
  18. My Kim Saigh arm is healed. Why is it so hard to get good pics? There are 5 shots here and still no full view of the inner bicep rose. Oh well. Good enough!

    Hello!

I bet Nathan Kostechko could turn that into something you would LOVE. Have you seen his work? He works at Memoir on Beverly Blvd. Instagram
  20. In terms of the people staring, or judging us just for having tattoos, I know for me one thing I am learning is NOT to have a chip on my shoulder...like, expecting people to stare and judge. I had two situations recently that made me realize--I'm the one judging them by thinking they are judging me! I saw an old lady at Trader Joe's. She was looking at me real funny and I was wearing a short sleeve shirt. I assumed she didn't like my tattoos. To my surprise she came right up to me, reached out her hand to lightly touch my arm, smiled and said, "Oh my! I thought that was a real baby at first, hahaha!" I was holding my daughter's doll in my arm the way you would hold a real infant and I guess it just freaked the lady out at first and then she was laughing about it. I started laughing and said to myself, man you just judged that lady as being uptight about tattoos and she wasn't AT ALL! Then like a week after that, yet another old lady was shopping at Albertson's supermarket. She was taking up a lot of room in the aisle, her cart was in the middle and she was on one side, not leaving me much room to get by. I tried to squeeze through, she glanced up and had a grumpy expression on her face and I immediately jumped to, "She's disgusted by my tattoos." No sooner did I think that when her face softened into a big smile and she said, "Oh look at me taking up the whole aisle, like I'm the only one in the store!" I laughed and told her not to worry about it as she pulled her cart out of my way. I walked away thinking what is the matter with me? Why do I keep judging these old ladies? It must be because of my mom. She is the only one who has ever actually said anything to my face about her disdain for tattoos. I need to get over it. Older ladies looking conservative, wearing mom-jeans, whatever, looking your way, looking grouchy....they don't necessarily hate tattoos! Some are curious, some think they are cool. I definitely receive many more compliments than disses, and seem to run into friendly people wherever I go. I'm trying to embrace it, and not expect people to not like them any more. If they don't like them, whatever, that's their problem, but I shouldn't expect them to not like them.
  21. I'm a teacher. I imagine it varies school to school, admin to admin... I work in the inner city, L.A. Most of the parents in this community have several tattoos themselves. They don't mind. My principal doesn't know I have them though because I have chosen to wear long sleeves. My students see them because I pull up my sleeves from time to time inside the classroom. They do not mind at all ?. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Yeah boo hoo, meanwhile I was the one in the pool getting splashed in the face by a bunch of crazed lunatic 6 yr olds. Jealous?! Ok it was pretty fun. To them you are just a party pooper, you're going to have to do something really great next bday party to reverse this image. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks for the replies, guys! Yes @Lance, I was planning on it being my right leg.... d'oh! Will look into white willow bark. And a skirt rather than my regular jeans. Will plan to whine a lot at rest stops or skip them altogether if at all possible. The third day wouldn't be any better would it? May as well just get home.
  24. Why, yes! Driving up the day before, staying 2 nights and I plan to drive back the next day. Didn't think I was going to be the one driving, but now it turns out I probably am and so I'm just starting to get nervous about it based on stuff I have read here about lower leg pain & healing issues!
