  1. Thanks for posting this, my best friend lives in Red Hook. I told her about it and she's planning on going. She wants a tattoo... Is it that one flash sheet (that Alex Sherker posted) or does each artist have their own?
  2. We have it, too, @hogg what page? Never thought I'd say something like this but the hubby and I are about to check out your ass.
  3. Good luck @ThaliaCamille! Let us know how it goes...let's see some pics!
  4. Have you guys seen this? It's hilarious: Look at this Instagram (Nickelback Parody) - CollegeHumor Video
  5. Sarah suffers from zero-sense-of-humor-itis. Then again pretty much all the contestants do.
  6. Cool! You have been mentioned in the Blackwork & Dotwork thread (http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/tattoo-designs-books-flash/3244-blackwork-dotwork-tattoos.html). I love your stuff on Instagram, too. Glad to see you here. If I'm ever in SF...I would love to get one from you. Or if you come to LA...you could let us know.
  7. Shawn Barber has a cool elephant migration sleeve in the works: . @Shawndbarber | Progress on Michael's elephant migration sleeve tonight | Webstagram - the best Instagram viewer
  8. Can we commiserate about a spouse/partner's healing process instead...? Well @DJDeepFried has been healing for a week now and we have different healing methods. I use a minimal amount of unscented moisturizer as needed. HE uses Aquafor slathered all over and it makes our sheets and comforter all greasy! Hee hee. Love ya honey. <3
  9. Looks really cool. I love the tattooed lady!
  10. About to watch this. Gotta say--I love the pics of Daisy on Instagram that @Graeme and @Pugilist put up--she looks like the sweetest thing. Love the cat pics too, of course, being that's mainly what I post as well, but that is a special dog.
  11. How about Harlan Thompson at Pioneer Tattoo in Chicago. I have some friends from Chicago who are friends w/him and have tattoos from him. He guests at Memoir here in LA sometimes. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Harlan-Thompson-tattoos/112869168745266?sk=photos_stream http://www.harlantattoos.com/http://www.harlantattoos.com/
  12. So, as I type @DJDeepFried is getting his 4th (I think) session on his arm worked on by Kim Saigh at Memoir and Seth Wood is there guesting. Jealous.
  13. This looks like a good book. Anyone have it?
  14. ummm... sad to say I don't remember the name of the town! I lived in Well, The Netherlands for a college semester in 1990 and we would take weekend trips all over Europe. All I remember is we had to hike up to our hotel and it was sunny w/ blue skies and icy mountains; there was a hang-glider, clean air, and yummy cheese fondue. The people were nice. I felt sad for my dad who doesn't/won't fly in airplanes because it seemed like the kind of place he would love.
  15. Hi! Been to Switzerland once...gorgeous place. What's the tattoo you have?
  16. interesting story though. It's kind of cool she was able to get tattooed by a famous artist who was the person she most wanted to meet...and the relationship that developed. Now that he died, she'll always have those tiny faded swallows to remember him by.
  17. The great thing is you don't have to be any good at drawing, nor do your friends. You just have to find a really good tattoo artist whose work you admire and (s)he can do all the drawing for you! Have you looked in the galleries here? Look through the galleries, watch the video interviews... you'll start to find artists you really want to be tattooed by. My first few tattoos, I thought I had to bring a picture of what I wanted and just get that--and a couple of the tattooers I went to, I didn't trust them to stray from my image because I didn't really know what they were capable of, I went based on friend recommendations without doing any research. I even did that with the famous Mark Mahoney (and feel a little silly about it now, although I still love my little black cat silhouette that he did and the whole experience of it). Since I joined LST, I have gone on to find amazing artists who I just say, "I want ____." And I know they can run with it and make it a way better tattoo than I could have even imagined.
  18. omg that sucks. Sorry you had to go through that @Jennifer Stell. :-(
  19. I agree, the lines look so solid and clean. I love all the black. As for me, I have black & gray, but my black & gray left arm incorporates a little "dotwork" type stuff in the background. I don't think I put this pic on LST... This is my inner arm after the 4th session w/a Spencer Briggs Style mandala. It's not finished yet and my iphone takes crappy/grainy pics but here it is:
  20. I had a dream last night my right arm was done the same way the girl in the 2Spirit Facebook cover photo is (this was done by Roxx. It's not exactly my style irl but pretty cool nonetheless, I definitely liked it in the dream). https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=406784286056675&set=a.293380224063749.67769.137372169664556&type=1&theater
