1. Haha. A good response. I get the same question. Yes, our daughter might want tattoos when she grows up. If she does, we will try to steer her in a good direction...she already understands about quality work at age 5. Or, she may go the other way and decide to be all preppy or what have you. This is totally up to her. What do I care? I just want her to be a relatively happy and well adjusted person who is compassionate and has a sense of humor about things. Is that too much to ask?! Tattoos have nothing to do with all that!
2. Look at you guys! You have awesome tattoos, you love animals, you read cool books, you eat poutine (granted I don't know wtf that is)... yup, I think you're both pretty cool.
3. "Perfectly Aged" from Bodies of Subversion via Sang Bleu for when people ask how your tattoos will look when you are 50/70/90... Not that it really matters or is anyone's business, if they fade and get old along with us, so be it, but these are holding up quite well! http://sangbleu.com/2013/09/06/perfectly-aged/screen-shot-2013-07-08-at-8-14-15-pm/
4. Take lots of pics of you guys eating the poutine! I have never had any, so I need to live vicariously. Then, some pics of the tattoos, yeah that goes without saying.
5. I don't know if this helps at all but my first tattoo that I got 22 yrs ago is red and black. I guess the tone was basic red...like a "red" crayola crayon, not super dark. Anyway, the color stayed and didn't turn pink. The tattoo has blurred & faded a little, but the red part is still red today. No idea what type of ink was used, just wanted to let you know red can last!
6. Pretty! I met Matt when I was up at Spider Murphy's. He was funny. I liked everyone I met up there.
7. If he had some tattoos and lost the tan he'd be pretty hot...
8. So, we did the BB&B frames and mounting tape just as @ironchef suggested and here are our 3 prints:
9. Could have been the beginning of a glamorous modeling career!
10. Well, if by people you mean my husband...yes. But what does he know--he's from Boston. ;) It is! We are both from New England... I used to say "wicked" to make fun of people saying "wicked". Until one day when I realized it had become second nature. Now I like it all the more because I miss Boston. I think @DJDeepFried is just still trying to assimilate to CA culture by switching over to their terminology...whether it's SoCal or NoCal...and even though he's lived here for about 20 years already.
11. Did you just say hella again? You been living in LA too long. Whatever happened to wicked?
12. um, why didn't @DJDeepFried and I know anything about this "push present" when I had my baby five and a half years ago? Like what kind of stuff are the ladies getting these days? Is there any type of retroactive policy in place?
13. Coffee just before with 2 ibuprofins, an Orgain during (nutritional shake), and an Atavan once I get home so I can go to bed without the new tattoo interfering with my sleep.
14. I'm getting a raven... the raven may have something hanging from its beak (like a key or a bell), and then I'm not sure what else... this is where I'm hoping she can chime in w/more ideas. Or I could just get the raven for now and add more stuff separately. I'd be happy with more flowers, maybe a branch, maybe a moth. ps. I've wanted a raven for a while and yours did not make me want one any less!!
15. Woo hoo! Congratulations Scott R !!! :D
16. Oh man, I want a tattoo! I have an appointment booked for Oct 5th to add to my right arm, and will go to consult about it soon. Decided to go back to Kim Saigh. While there are hundreds of artists whose stuff I'm into, I figured who better to continue this arm than the person who already started it. I am really fond of her, and her work, and her shop. When I got the roses from her on my upper arm I didn't know I'd want to turn it into a sleeve, but I have full confidence she can figure it out.
17. Dedicated Devo fans. "Chosen Mutations"...a gallery of Devo tattoos. ::Devo-Obsesso:: CHOSEN MUTATIONS
18. Well you can ask questions here in this thread even if you can't start a new one yet... Do you have a link to this guy's online portfolio?
19. I don't believe in bad luck or good luck but if you like it, you should keep it! The rest of your arm looks really nice btw.
20. Several years ago I had a sweet little first-grade student of mine tell me, "tattoos are evil". That's what her very religious mom had told her. I didn't want to go against her mom by saying too much...but I did say something like, "Well, they are just pictures. Can pictures be evil?" She looked thoughtful and we left it at that.
21. I have my daughter's name on me. I certainly won't frown upon you for that. ;) Mainly, people here just want to steer you in the direction of getting solid work and will support & applaud you when you do. I've learned a lot since I've been checking out this site and following artists on instagram. Once I saw what was possible in tattooing, the quality of my tattoos started improving.

Hi =)

I got my first tattoo when I was around your age...22 years ago! I didn't have much time to plan or over-think it because it was kind of on a whim. I just picked something I liked and got it. It's not like you have to stop there, you can just keep thinking of things you like and getting them. There is a whole thread about first tattoos here: http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/crazy-tattoo-stories/14-first-tattoo.html
