1. @Kev, I really wanna like Wiz Kahlifhhfhifa based solely on the fact that I think he bears an uncanny resemblance to Jimi Hendrix. But it's bad, it's all so bad. Also hilarious, when he pulls up his shirt to reveal ––*no tattoos! Warped Tour Body Suit / Hip-Hop Body Suit.
2. @dcostello PICS NOW @fuckhead great song @Hands On I hate musicals but kind of awesome to reference the BK Navy Yard and going to the Bowery. @hogg.... that's pretty beautiful.
3. Also, @Scott R (and everyone else) "I'll post it up in the video thread, too!
4. @Duffa, awesome. Keep staring at all the stuff on Tyron's legs.. esp. the pharaoh's horses. AND I'm pretty sure I see little spidey filler in there just below his left knee! Wish I could make out what he's got on his knees. Man, love that photo. @Scott R, that's Rick Walters. I think they're just bent and look that way in the photo? Though I wouldn't be surprised if Rick Walters was missing various appendages.
5. If the shitty's easier for everyone just go for that! Only reason I suggested W'burg was to set the first one up.. and cause it's really easy for me. Manhattan better?
6. NY numbers growing! Where are you workin?
7. You can only do so much dude, I say it's nice of you to offer advice but if they don't wanna listen, they don't wanna listen.
8. Guessing those tattoos are for Autism Speaks, an advocacy group for people with Autism. The puzzle piece is their logo. Or was the the joke..?
9. Yeah I see all the #refaday tags but still don't entirely get what the goddamn hell is happening. I'm 73 years young. I said this going up to mine but I think I probably got tattooed the most last year. Go figure!
10. @missStark, awesome! @Everyone else don't forget about the monthly tattoo thread! http://www.lastsparrowtattoo.com/forum/lst-announcements-contests/1994-march-2012-best-tattoo-month-contest.html
11. Right now I think so, but I say do it and if some of us can't make it then next time. Also, good hang! Probably (definitely) should've eaten dinner before I started sipping (guzzling) whiskey.
12. Forget emails dude (if time and distance permit), find a shop or tattooer you're into and just go talk to them. If you can loosen up your budget a bit that'd also be a plus just to be safe. Don't forget, like any other service it's also good form to tip. Lastly, I'll stick to other "advice" I've given before, to just get more tattoos. But make sure they're nicer ones that you're happier with.
13. What's up Rando, always good to have more east coasters!
14. Well, that's a bummer. Interesting comments on that article though.. I wonder if you contacted the companies directly and explained your situation and love of the brown stuff to them if they'd ship a bottle.
15. You should hear some of the shit people have ordered at the bar, wouldn't put that past anybody.
16. I love me single malts but I don't think I could ever bring myself to start paying $700 for the more obscure batches. It'd be interesting to try em though, especially if they're Laphroaig and Ardbeg.
17. Michter's, for the love of god Michter's! Their Rye is one of my favorites and their American Whiskey is so solid. Jim Beam Rye is also a great go-to and I push it on everyone at the bar. Really great for old fashioneds, too. You know you're drinking it but it doesn't have a bite and is a little more complex than you'd think initially (what with the Jim Beam name). Whistle Pig is delicious, highly recommend it. @RoryQ mentioned Buffalo Trace, which has got me into bourbons lately. I like to use the word "approachable" for it. Got hooked when the bartenders at a certain place always gave us shots and I finally asked what it was. Turns out they use it as their well, which is not to disparage it but it's a really inexpensive bottle and very nice. Templeton Rye is a new favorite, out of Iowa, fun stuff. Dickel is also great, fairly inexpensive, more bourbony, kinda nutty. Old Portrero. Good God I could go on. I am super happy to talk about whiskey all day long. In fact, I usually end up doing it at the bar five days a week whether people want a discussion or not. @jade1955 hope this helps! And doesn't put too big of a dent in your wallet! (Can you ship booze internationally, person-to-person? There's actually a great Maryland rye (now made in Kentucky) that's like $13 a bottle and I think you can only find it in MD, but it's called Pikesville Rye and is so good..)
18. Hey @Blank, eagles and panthers are classic, classic designs. Sounds like you're on the right track since you mentioned getting a USMC tattoo in the other thread. Best advice is to find a shop/tattooer you're into and have a chat with them. Eagle vs panther tattoo? Two separate tattoos maybe? One giant, killer eagle chest piece? Where're you at? I bet some folks on here could point you in the right direction.
19. Sounds like you'll be stoked on it, regardless! Also, you should be buddies with @jade1955 who also started "late in the game" and is currently going nuts like a kid/ @dcostello in a candy/liquor store, getting consistently tattooed by some great tattooers, and putting the rest of us to shame. Better late than never!
20. This sounds better! Next time we'll double our numbers. Rando, @Bauzzza
21. We doin this tomorrow around 9 at my bar? 103 Havemeyer between Grand and Hope (/Metropolitan), have a few drinks and some high-fives? Have a feeling it might just be me, @slayer9019, @LeoKraft, maybe @Jack, but I am sick no longer and ready to hang out.
22. True story. I only feel like a tattooed guy when I catch my reflection out of the corner of my eye.. don't see it on a day to day.
23. Fun! Got a little something from Todd a few years back when he was up here, nice dude, does great tattoos.
